"In the following months, Kerry was accused of shooting himself to get the purple hearts; " Nobody accused him of shooting himself. I'd like this 'reporter' to verify this. He was rightfully accused of fraudulantly recieving purple hearts for nothing more than a sliver, shrapnel which was barely attached to his skin (from shooting an RPG at a target to close) and a grain of rice imbedded in his @ss from throwing a grenade into a starving vienamize's rice stash. He did however, shoot an fleeing kid in the back, a baby and an old man.

In fact, if John Kerry was in Iraq today, he would have media screaming about his actions.
Funny how they can call him "honorable".

Looks like it's time for another Swift Boat smackdown. Seems funny to me he would have waited this long to 'set the record straight'. Must have taken Mary Mapes and Lucy Ramirez all this time to perform their magic...

frenchie is either a fool ( if he was right all along and didn't just kill this with a press conference ) or a liar
( which shows great possibility here ).

Not bad, only took him 2 years to come up with a way to start to address this, and clean up from his record whatever needed to be cleaned up so that the new! improved! JF'nK is ready for another run in 2008.

"Although they had little bearing on Kerry's qualifications to be president"... "Kerry's most significant strength: his war record".....
"irrelevant to the campaign"....
Well which is it? irrelevant? relevant? irrelevant? Seems the writer cant even make up his mind. In my view, Kerry made his war record relevant, and thus open to question, by presenting it as basically his only qualification to be president.
Your post bears repeating, and it stopped me from having to type it all out myslelf :)
Apparently kerry's "war record", was his greatest strenght before it was his weakest link.....he can't even hit level ground on his own personal history. What will it be next a flip flop or will he change it to a flop flip?
By always attempting to have it both ways he guarantees he will never have it anyway.

Kerry versus the Vets, Clinton versus Gore, Gore versus rationality, this is adding up to be one of the greatest political seasons of all time. You left out one - Clinton v Kerry. Imagine a debate where Hillary demands Kerry release his military records -- sign the 180. Kerry has his balls cut off on national tv, and Hillary looks both strong on defense and like a beacon of truth! Kerry is toast. Milquetoast.

I believe he did have the opportunity, we didn't buy it then, we're not buying it now....

Lord, God, Almighty . . . would You PLEASE insure that SKERRY has his face and every other part of his troublesome personage rubbed relentlessly in this horse manure . . . preferably on prime time? Enough already yet! Let him be silenced in great humiliation at his own hand.
Let him be ran off the public stage amidst great guffaws and derision. Let him be kowtowed to such a degree that he is scared to show his face in public even in Mass.
Let him reap abundantly what he has sown.
Of course, IF he makes a full enough confession and shows vigorous evidence of repentance in changed behavior . . . well and good. But we won't hold our breath, Lord.

Signing a Form 180 is one thing. Actually submitting a signed Form 180 to the Defense Department is something else.

So these tactics were used against former Sen. Max Cleland too? The reason Max lost was because he was a complete and total fool, and we in Georgia had enough of his liberal B.S., and we ran him out of office. When Cleland was Secretary of State of Georgia, he liked to use state money to have phone sex with some girl he was going with...lots of our tax money was spent so Maxie-baby could get his jollies, and when confronted, he denied it all. Unfortunately for the pervert Max, there were TAPES of his phone sex, and he was humiliated. His war record was put under the scope too, and though he lost both legs and an arm, it was not because of hostile fire but rather negligence on someone's part with a loose grenade. Max's handlers wanted all of us to believe he was wounded by the Viet Cong or NVA forces, when in fact it was the result of a horrible accident and carelessness. I'm sorry he was so disfigured by that, but don't make out like it was the result of his heroism, it cheapens everything you do after that. Max got what he deserved by the voters of Georgia when Saxby Chambliss kicked his butt out of office, and to show his gratitude to the folks in Georgia,Max doesn't even live here anymore! Good riddance!
