Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.
It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.
We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.
I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.
And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.
And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.
I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:
Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself
Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.
"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.
BTW please do not post italics as if it were a quote from me--you know that's the custom here...
Was there any mention in the article on testing in Montana about whether that was their first testing or if there had been a prior one, whether there was any improvement?
One of them saw to it that an American Edition of the Holy Bible be printed from the Congressional Printing Press, and a copy of the original American Edition of the Holy Bible resides in the halls of Congress to this very day.
There also is, located next to the main entrance to the Senate, a small chapel where Congress members and their staff can enter to meditate, pray, and hold Bible study during their free time.
The chapel is not open to the public, but it's clearly distinguishable by it's stainglass window of of a portrait of George Washington genuflecting in prayer.
That was the first time that I am aware of that NCLB had been put into use here in Montana. I believe they grade the schools performance in the spring after the schools have completed their year.
..the whole point of tension is the vision as to what kind of society this was, is and will be.
There has never been a theocracy, there never should be in this present world.
On the other hand the attempt to deny that this is a Judeo- Christian based society is simply denying history.
A secular or even atheistic society is a threat--to itself...
I am an atheist and I actually advocate a Judaic culture.
"Here Here! To your original post!
Thanks for all that you do!"
Second that.
I thank God every day, that Freerepublic has remained steadfast, and all my fellow freepers have stayed the course.
God Bless You Jim, and all Freepers!
Ops4 God Bless America!
The Bible says Israel is God's kingdom on the earth, that the nations around it are kingdoms of the Enemy and that Yeshua will return to destroy those enemies...
Of course you can, but The Universe/Father Nature is going to mark your work,.
And take reason too far and you end up muttering "Helping is Futile" with Atlas Shrugged under your arm - not a pretty sight.
Thanks, JR.
I'm glad I found this site when I did. It's helped me to maintain my sanity.
Just thought this a worthy thread to ping those I admire hereon to.
Sorry if it was too bothersome.
Did you or did you not write (in your first post to me):
The fix won't be easy now, or cheap, but we need to be helping these people, not hating them for where they were born.
I take that to mean you believe I hate Mexican illegals. That's absolutely untrue. You imply the same thing here, and engage in name-calling:
And what gives you the right to offer your disapproval of anyone's country of origin? My husband may have been born in Mexico, but he is at least as loyal and patriotic to this country as you are, and far less paranoid, omg.
Please show me where I even suggested disapproval of his country of origin. I asked if he's an American citizen. Is he? And don't start with the ingenuous 'paranoia' crap. My complaint is about illegal entry, not country of origin. I get along wonderfully with my legal neighbors of Mexican origin. I'm just as opposed to illegal Chinese, Irish, Armenians or Italians as I am to people from Mexico or elsewhere to the south. Illegal, illegal, illegal, illegal!!! That's the key word. But you're hopeless anyhow because your tagline says it all.
I'm tired of all the demagoguing of this issue. The lines are drawn.
I'm stuck by the core Christianity the American founders showed on their public profession of Christianity. In Britain itself even today public expressions of religion are confined to a particular sect of Christianity (Presbyterianism for Scotland and Anglicanism for England, for instance). British people will feel uncomfortable if they see public ceremonies are interwoven with Baptist teachings, for instance.
In Britain and even New Zealand you feel it is like "Anglicanism above Christianity" while the opposite is true for the United States.
thanks.
I didn't take your post out of context .. you said it was the ONLY important issue
I simply disagreed with you
