FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

Make A Wish!
I never knew that I would get my wish
When I outgrew the Coffee Table's Candy Dish
Its pretty cut glass would catch the Sun's yellow streams
Then warm up nicely during naps to help me dream
Now I have found a Brand New Place!
Much deeper and wider. It dwarfs my pretty kittie face
I can curl up on its bottom and never ever be seen
Because it easily holds as much as a Tureen!
Inside, its round wall is shiny, cool and slick
For sharpening my little claws, it does the trick!
If I stretch with my paws on the brim, I can leap up and away
Or stand on its saucer and come in the other way
Though this place doesn't get as warm from the Sun
I have much more room for comfort, which is fun
It's Mine! And it's Perfect just for Me!
I just wish my Human never uses it for Coffee or Tea!

What, afraid you'd get even more silly? :)
I bet your cat is adorable - I used to have a cat named Albert (horribly unimaginative name).. we had to leave him behind at our last house, though. Oh well.. :D

Oh my, lol! Well, I guess it's one I'll have to learn after I can hear better, since you can't really differentiate tones when all you can really hear are very low or high/loud sounds.. hoping hearing aids or some such will let me hear the middle-ranges again - I miss music!

I was tagged Kilo Whiskey by my shipmates in Vietnam because they are the phonetics for my first and middle initials. Happy to be around so many AD military members and vets. I am the son of an Air Force dad and a Navy mom, and my brother was a Coastie.

Let daughter drive with one friend only.State law restricts new teen drivers from other teens in the car for the first 6 months which is fine by me. I think of some of the dumb stuff I did behind the wheel when I was a kid. I'm lucky to be here.

I figured it was tonal from the way it was written, plus the fact that you said it's more like Chinese than Japanese (although Japanese can be tonal, almost.. it's a matter of knowing how to pronounce it, and then how lond to hold the sound for, I guess..).
And there is that.. though part of the reason I like Japanese so much is the way it's written! :D

Albert wasn't the ordinary cat - and technically he belonged to Moshi's younger sister. The cat wasn't sure whether he was cat, dog, jackrabbit or human. He befriended the mice in the house to the point where he would watch them sit in the middle of the floor and argue. He was a good hunter, but kept trying to catch coyotes and jackrabbits, which led to many battlescars which attracted the youg feline ladies. There are few things more humorous than watching a cat try to catch a jackrabbit. He detested catfood, thought refried beans were the best food ever invented. Eschewed his fancy catbed in favor of human beds, but only if there were pillows in place.
Moshi didn't ever meet the cat I had as a kid - his name was Tommy and he could use the toilet and open the bathroom door. That was a good cat:)
