A Few of FR's Finest...Every Day.......02-15-06....Pets and Friends

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

That the eyes of love a -lone may see,
And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine
Are the smiles that you give to me.

Hi, Purple Mountains:

I borrowed the photo from another site. I'm fair with a camera, or paper, charcoal and paper. Though many think I'm better with words.

I'm glad you like the poem.

Jack.

We'll just see what happens. I'm usually not encouraged to take a lot of time off at once, but this is waaaaaaay different. So, I'll start getting them used to the idea pretty soon! LOL!

Sweet dreams, Mrs.N. Talk tomorrow! (((hugs)))

Very nice Jack.

My sister is having a bit of a problem at the moment.

New Puppy doesn't know it should be friends with the resident kitties.

I'll take a trip to Texas. I'll take a trip and meet you in Oregon but I'm not going oversees. I'm a big baby. Darn, can't we all just go to a German Restaurant. How about Germany at Epcott. LOL

Be Still And Know

Read:
Psalm 46:1-11

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! —Psalm 46:10

Bible In One Year: Leviticus 19-20; Matthew 27:51-66

cover In February 1946, the world's first general-purpose electronic computer was introduced at the University of Pennsylvania. The Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) filled a 30-by-50-foot room, weighed 50 tons, and used enough electricity every second to power a typical home for a week. Today, a pocket calculator contains more computing power than ENIAC did.

A decade ago, one observer noted that computers and other hi-tech gadgets have "snuck up on us and we don't realize it." He went on to speak of how wonderful it is to go where there are no computers, phones, or radios, or to go to the beach and listen to the waves.

Undisturbed stillness has become more elusive and therefore more necessary than ever to seek. The Lord God said, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10).

A respite from activity allows us to focus our thoughts on the majesty of God. A quiet place helps us to listen to Him. Away from voice-mail and e-mail, we turn from our daily schedule to His eternal plan.

In our fast-paced world, we need to be still and acknowledge that God is in charge. —David McCasland

Take time to be holy,
The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret
With Jesus alone. —Longstaff

Spending quiet time with God will bring quiet rest from God.

Good morning, all. I do not have any of my pet pictures on my work computer, so I figured I'd just post pics that look like them

This one looks like my male cat, Butterscotch. "Butter" is an old dude. About 10-11 years old. Very affectionate.

This is a picture of what Muddy Waters looks like, except Muddy is now approx. 6 years old. He loves people.

Since this is a pet lovers thread, this is a perfect opportunity to announce that both of these guys are available for adoption. Both are indoor animals who have been part of the family for a long time. We are located in Maryland and if anyone out there is interested or knows of anyone, please FReepmail me for details.

Oh no.How come you have to give up those adorable guys?

I would take them in a heartbeat, but I am on the left Coast and don't have much room for two new additions to the family.

Hiya, Mrs. N.

Really, I must find good homes for them because Mr. Beachy and I moved into a very small house (my cottage) and we have two dogs and two cats. We are only allowed to have two pets in the co-op neighborhood where we moved. Plus, the house is too small to handle four pets.

I feel better finding a home for them than sending them to the pound and hope someone will adopt them.

I can understand that, but it is always hard to give a pet away, even if it is going to a good home.

I am praying for you and your beloved pets that you'll find someone that has the time and love to take in the two.

Thanks for the prayers. That is my prayer too. I want them to have a good home with people who will love and care for them as part of the family.

Hard for me to say without scale, I don't think he was originally next to the kitten, I think he was photoshopped in. might be any of the herding dogs or a mix, they're born with flop ears and they stand up during puberty... going through a phase where their neither standing or laying flat ;~D
