Nobody in Rep. Murtha's office seem to be able to point to the poll that Murtha keeps quoting as indicating 80% of Iraqis want us out.
Both Murtha's press office at 814-535-2642 and his DC office claim they have no clue where he got this percentage other than it was a "British DOD" poll.
Well: there is a so called "SECRET" poll reported at the above link that was done ostensibly by some "Iraqi university research team". I would guess this is his "source" his office referred to since they cannot (or will not) produce anything to support his statement.
Wonder if Murtha believes everything he reads.......or just the stuff that paints us as losing.
Secret MoD poll: Iraqis support attacks on British troops By Sean Rayment, Defence Correspondent (Filed: 23/10/2005)
Millions of Iraqis believe that suicide attacks against British troops are justified, a secret military poll commissioned by senior officers has revealed.
snip
The survey was conducted by an Iraqi university research team that, for security reasons, was not told the data it compiled would be used by coalition forces.
What does anyone expect from a man facing serious ethics charges. Culture of Hypocrisy in full view for the world to see.
I was wondering the same thing
It doesn't matter where any of these lefties get their figures. They make them up and throw them into the public fray. Like the "10% of the population is queer" or "majority public support for abortion rights". They keep right on with shameless lies until the Moron Majority comes to accept them as truth.
Of the Democrats in Congress, 79.3% of them think that Murtha is an idiot. A useful idiot, so they won't say this publicly (they know they could lose their jobs). But I've spoken with them and 79.3% of them think that Murtha is an idiot.
Murtha is Fat Ted's twin -- both white haired -- both large -- both bloviators. (Don't know if Murtha is a drinker.)

I just conducted my own secret survey.
100 percent of me thinks that Rep. Murtha is an idiot.
I know we're not supposed to question polls done by professional pollsters here, but I question whether this "Iraqi university research team" has mastered sampling and using unslanted questioning.

The lying hypocrisy of the left is just getting worse -- since there is no evidence to support their radical and fake claims, they INVENT IT. Just more constant liberal lies...
The poll was taken among prisoners at Abu Graib.
Less than 1% of those polled believed that the forces were responsible for any improvement in security.
Eighty-two per cent of those polled said they were strongly opposed to the presence of the troops.
The paper said the poll, conducted in August by an Iraqi university research team, was commissioned by the Ministry of Defence.

Personally I think Murtha, Kerry, Pelosi and Dean are the best news the Republican party has right now. The more they open their mouths the further they alienate their party from mainstream America.
This reminds me of the British group that came up with an estimate of 100,000 Iraqis killed by the coalition forces, a number pulled out of thin air, which was then cited over and over again by opponents of the US presence in Iraq.
He should be facing charges of Treason for giving aid and comfort to our enemies.
So this so called poll probably was first reported by none other than Al Jazeera and then probably copied as "news" by the Telegraph.
I bet Hitler's disinformation campaign never had it so easy as our enemies today do with our own Congressmen and women repeating what the enemies write as fact!!!
This statistic is being used REPEATEDLY by the media and the dems. I found it quoted in the Washington Post. I think that is the 'source' they quote without checking into it further.
