Give a turkey something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Join Farm Sanctuary's annual Adopt-A-Turkey Project.
Every year, Farm Sanctuary rescues turkeys from slaughter and provides them lifelong, loving care at our shelters for farm animals in Watkins Glen, New York and Orland, California.
Since our unique holiday project began in 1986, hundreds of turkeys in need have been rescued, and thousands of people have decided to feed a turkey, rather than eat a turkey, by adopting one. Every year, more people are choosing to save a turkey for Thanksgiving, and you can, too!
Farm Sanctuary's Adopt-A-Turkey Project offers two ways for people to adopt turkeys this Thanksgiving holiday:
Sponsor "adopt" a turkey who lives at Farm Sanctuary's New York or California shelters for farm animals. For a one-time $20 adoption fee, adopters receive a color photograph of their turkey, an adoption certificate and a year subscription to Farm Sanctuary's quarterly newsletter. The adoption fee provides funds for feed, bedding and veterinary care for the turkeys. Please call 1-888-SPONSOR or click here to adopt a turkey who lives at Farm Sanctuary.
Home adopt and provide a safe, permanent, and loving home for two or more turkeys. Home adopters must be vegetarian or vegan, and committed to providing lifelong care for their turkey friends. Individuals interested in home adoptions must complete an adoption application. Approved adopters will be placed on a schedule to have their turkey companions personally delivered by Farm Sanctuary staff on the Turkey Express.
This season, be a part of the NEW Thanksgiving tradition adopt a turkey!
The Adopt-A-Turkey Project is a program of Farm Sanctuary, the nation's largest farm animal rescue and protection organization.

Yummmmm....turkey! I'll be cooking up a nice 20 pounder this Christmas. Dinner, then leftovers for a good long time.
I'll let someone else free a turkey.

Which one? A Christmas turkey or a holiday turkey?

I am more of a pork and beef man. Can I "adopt" a cow or a pig. I promise, they will be prepared properly. If G_d did not want us to eat animals, he would not make them out of meat!!

I'll be glad to adopt a turkey and have it fed, up until December 23. But I expect to pay only About $7.50 for the bird, not $20. And, in exchange for the turkey, I'll be glad to send them a picture of my family sharing our Christmas dinner with the adoptee. Yum!
