During one of countless book-related radio interviews this week, a liberal radio host insultingly asked me whether I write my own column. His question was prompted by vicious anonymous bloggers who portray me as a greedy Asian whore/dupe/brainwashing victim who simply parrots what my white slavemasters program into my empty little head. These critics have stepped up attacks on my husband Jesse as a fanatical right-wing puppeteer orchestrating all I do and say.
I assume these tinfoil-hat wearers also think I'm secretly wired during my TV and radio appearances, speeches, and debates-- you know, just like George Bush.

It was Thomas Sowell who really changed my life, mentally. His primer on economics made me realize how naive I was about the world. Definitely a humbling, as well as enlightening, experience.

The thing is most minorities are inherently conservative: Latinos with their strong sense of family, ditto for Asians (whether East Asian, South Asian or West Asian)

Hostility to cant and vicious dishonesty is a good thing. It's a thing shared by many who read and/or post here on FR.
As much as I enjoy the free flow of opinion and information on FR ... I sometimes enjoy the humour even more. Have you ever noticed that the liberals [descendants of the Puritans] are devoid of humour? That is why we can always trip them up by laughing at them. It is something they really do not understand.
Well put. One of the best descriptive/explanatory sayings about leftists is that leftists are "people for whom indignation is a way of life." "Things are so bad" that only people equipped with moral refinement and brilliant minds (them, in their purblind conceit) can straighten them out. I remember coming to FR from Enter Stage Right - do you know the song "Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good!"?
Well put, indeed. They do, in fact, believe that they, and they alone, have the solutions for all of mankind's ills ... the ol' perfectability of man shtick. Their liberal agenda has actually become a secular religion for them, from which they derive their "moral" superiority. The rest of us just don't understand ... we are not in the private club.
