The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
You could feel it, definitely, but remember, this is in a very crowded and very loud stadium. But yes, you could feel it. To put it in perspective also, there was a large parking garage and several buildings between me and the blast, so feeling anything is something. My son, lower down and with the western stands also in front of him, did not feel it, but he heard it.
Could mean a lot of things. Someone buying ammo on e-bay isn't unusual, especially in middle America. I wonder if he was concerned with self-defense, or was just a regular shooter or what...
I wonder why...he sounded on to me. Oh, well...maybe they know something we don't.
Gotcha, well enough.
I didn't neceassarily believe him...but he didn't sound off center either. Oh, well. I guess we will find out more later.
Excellent point!
Wrong place wrong time perhaps.
Yeah, you're right. I guess I shouldn't ever try out for suicide bombing. ;D
"The one that just occured recently - one of the contestants stopped touching the truck, walked over to a store, stole a shotgun and some shells and blew his head off in front of some cops and onlookers."
Here's the difference. To my knowledge and probably everyone elses, on this threads knowledge, IT WAS NOT DONE IN FRONT OF ANYONE. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL EYE WITNESSES.
Do you have evidence otherwise?
There are fibs, lies, and d@mn lies. JP did not back anything up, and therefore falls into the latter category.
So JesseP, the guy who supposedly talked to Hinrichs' frat brother, has been banned and the thread pulled.
Hmmm...
Looks like someone's trying too hard.
Can anyone give us a very brief summary of what is known, both fact and speculation, so that we don't have to read all 3000 plus posts? Thanks in advance.
Probably humoring the fact that he's advanced beyond what's being taught in class - making regress as opposed to progress. These are engineering students - they have a different sense of humor than others.
And how did you want him to do that exactly? Share a tape recorded message of the call? LOL.
It could be a simple misunderstanding. Or maybe the board moderator thought JesseP was making stuff up? No idea.
"Contiuing saga of missing ammo, guy on ebay told me he had my dorm address, didn't register that address with ebay"
I find these comments interesting. Perhaps the BATF was investigating him? The thing that would point me in that direction is the statement that the seller had his dorm address which Heinrichs says he didn't register at EBay. How would this person get his "home" address if it was not supplied during the transaction, and/or was not listed in the buyer's profile. I also was not aware they allowed purchase of ammo from EBay - sounds like a set-up type operation to me.
I'll be paying attention to what the MSM says about this man's background information...
Understandable. One of his other comments was "shrugs" during one of the other Meeting Minutes.
I'd like confirmation from the powers that be:
1)Was he was without doubt the person who "caused" the boom.
2)Was He was an innocent bystander.
Which one is it?
There were witnesses but only after they felt the bomb blast. Don't know if anyone noticed him before that. As for the person that called the fraternity, I am surprised anyone talked to him since the name was only released at 4:00.
Another comment is that if he had waited another five minutes there would have been people all around there as they would have left the stadium at halftime. First half ran longer than usual.
