I am watching a Cspan 3 of the vote. Hard to read the screen but it looks like a 12 to 5 vote for Roberts to be Chief Justice.

I think the Democrat vote was completely choreographed, including Leahy's Yes vote. They had to show the leftists they had some spine to stand up to President Bush, but by allowing a few to vote Yes they think they have sent a message to the White House not to send up a "more conservative" nominee next time, and to the American people that they can be "reasonable" if given "reasonable" nominees. [. . .]. Has nothing to do with their constituents at all. They were told how to vote.

You're kidding! Biden told Roberts he was the best nominee he'd seen before the committee!!

If that's something we can get a video clip of, it would be nice to blend with his no vote for an electiontime ad. :-)
