I am watching a Cspan 3 of the vote. Hard to read the screen but it looks like a 12 to 5 vote for Roberts to be Chief Justice.

Great collage, Dave. Thanks for the reminder of what an arse ole Ted is.
To: firebrand
Now I see that he did vote yes.

Both Wisconsin Democrats (Kohl, Feingold) vote for Roberts. Why?
Wisconsin was within 100K votes of going for Bush in 2004.

That is such a tragedy.. not in Pol Pot or Soviet Gulag or Nazi Germany kind of way.. but more like a Guantanamo Bay type tragedy...

Whatever happened to "we won't vote him out of committee until the president names O'Conner's replacement"? Another empty threat form UpChuck.

Wisconsin was within 100K votes of going for Bush in 2004 ANd they both know that the 100K votes were fraud and that people are currently being prosecuted in WI so they can't count on those votes next time.

Of course considering there were 1000s of extra ballots ordered and the local DNC slashing the tires of vans owned by the local Republican Party.
All of this could be solved by simply showing your ID when you vote. I was 19 in 2004 when I first voted and brought my ID because I assumed it being my first time they would want to see some ID. Of course they didn't, the worker just crossed my named of the list and handed me a ballot. ( I live in a very small town so I can imagine how easy it would be to live in Milwaukee open a phone book and pick names at random and vote in their place)

Headline: Majority of Democrats fail in vote against right wing republican nominee Roberts. Mr. Bush acknowledges "still work to do."

I hadn't seen that vote tally; there's never been a doubt in my mind that Roberts will be confirmed. The next person, whoever it is, will face hell. And that gang of 14 will look like fools.

I don't care why they voted yes. The 3 of them deserve commendation for making a fair decision.

I'm imagining Biden with that healthy ORANGE glow that Kerry achieved. When does the BOTOXING and hair-dying start? OH! To have Photoshop...
To: Donald Rumsfeld Fan
From the tone of his questioning his yes vote doesn't surprise me. Of course he is also up for re-election in a swing state, is he not?

I hate to admit it, but we're just as, or more, shameful here in NY with Chuckie and Mrs. Clinton. Amen! Any idea when the full Senate will vote?
