Hillary Now Leader at MoveOn White House Protest: "Freepers Should be Shot"
Friday, September 9, 2005 | Kristinn

Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.

Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.

However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.

As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.

I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.

Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.

It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.

As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"

I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.

Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.

But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"

He walked away after that. The police did nothing.

Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.

I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"

indeed, He spoke of the pedagogy of el Paredon! (the wall of execution). There are other insights into his pathology conveniently overlooked in Redford's "The Motorcycle Diaries"

Here's a quote missed by that heart-warming film.

"Crazy with fury I will stain my rifle red while slaughtering any enemy that falls in my hands! My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood. With the deaths of my enemies I prepare my being for the sacred fight and join the triumphant proletariat with a bestial howl!"

Come to think of it, this is kind of what Mr. Kunst said in fewer words but the same intent.

I read this with some interest, because I have a modern Che wannabee in my next novel, Domestic Enemies, and the wall of execution figures prominently.

And who do you think would win? It won't be the wimpy left. Remember - they are anti-war.

Send a note to Hillary, asking her to disavow his organization since it is apparently linked to terrorist threats against american citizens.

Of course, send the letter to the papers (that's how democrats always deliver THEIR letters to people).

Don't expect anything to come of it, but it might be fun.

Can we talk about dis-embowelling our political enemies?

Their first goal is to shut down or regulate to death places like FR.

They wouldn't like the consequences. All Jim Robinson would have to do is release the software as open-source and release a basic administrator's manual, and instead of one FR inside US jurisdiction, there could be hundreds outside it. A repeat, if you will, of the phenomenon that caused conservatives to dominate the Internet in the first place.

You SHOULD try for a restraining order even to just get it on the record.

Liberal thugistas follow the marxist model of "free speech". Then on the other hand, there's "speech" that comes with a cost.

"Freepers should be shot!"

Well, they could get one of us anyway...

I thought the liberal version of an anti-free speech weapon was a cream pie.

> The honesty disarmed Taylor. "Well, thank you," he said, "that's the first honest thing I've heard out here today."

"Well, don't you think there's a reason we all hate him?" the man continued.

"Yes," Taylor answered. "Because you are all pathological in your hatred of him."

"Of course," the man said, as a few more people began laughing. "And why is that?"

"Because you're a bunch of loony liberals!" Taylor answered, as everyone cracked up.<

Ok, Kristinn's right about the looney liberal part, but there is a deeper psychosis going on in the MoveOn mindset.

In order to whip their followers up into a frenzy, the left must have a central figure upon which to focus - its Emmanuel Goldstein, if you will. Can't have our Two Minutes Hate against thin air.

President Bush is the perfect person upon which to focus, in the left's quest for power.

The more desperate they become, the more dangerous they are.

You bring up a very good point. Many of us saw the thread of the WVA union goon taking a sign away from a small girl, and then taunting and laughing at her. Even though the "city slicker" Democrats are all hat and no cattle, they have loyal followers who do not play fair, at all.

The Democrats are experts at drumming up hate. All you have to do is turn on the news, and watch the Katrina coverage.
