Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.
However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.
As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.
I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.
Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.
It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.
As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"
I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.
Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.
But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"
He walked away after that. The police did nothing.
Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.
I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"
That's only been so for for a relatively short time.
I can easily recall nearly *everyone* I know being a Dem.
[but I mean good, -conservative- God-fearing Dems, not liberals]
Reagan started the turn of the tide, thankfully.
Unfortunately, the hordes of DC/Balto surbanites flooding in is changing western MD from "red" to "purple" very quickly.
The local Dem bigwigs vow that they will "change the political complexion of western MD".

If these people really cared about the people of the Gulf Coast, they should go down there and find ways to help the people in that region, instead of making it a political blame game. The real Americans are already down there. Shame on the ones holding the sign....
The action they do is to meet with each other to promote "words". And to ask ordinary Americans to hold up the "party" signs for them, and to march in the streets. The leaders of the left, are about "words".
"Liberalism" is a verb without noun, predicate, preposition, or subject.

The left has never appreciated (or perhaps they have) the power that rhetoric spiraling out of control can have over the minds and dispositions of their followers. They seek to outdo each other in their excess, and violence, unfortunately, is the usual end.
This Freeper is a good shot. Fat boy can stop by anytime.
What rules. I got no stinkin rules. The Courts chunked the Constitution so I make my own rules now.
Since he was talking about shooting us, shouldn't the restraining order be more appropriate to that? I'm thinking 500 yards, given the range and accuracy of some rifles and snipers.

When I read the article on FR last night, it didn't mention who the woman was who was yelling" Support the President". It struck me then that if you were there, that woman must be the incomparable Angelwood.
You two are the best.

What can the FBI do about this Bob person? If I'm not mistaken, this can be construed as a terrorist threat.
If Hillary ever gets to be President, you can bet the farm that while Freepers may not be shot, they will be sent to prison on what ever charges the Clinton Justice Department can trump up and that the Patroit Act and RICO Act will be used against us.
