There are some very important abortion cases coming up, including one (I think) about the partial birth abortion ban. Unfortunately, the President is unlikely to get a nominee confirmed for Chief Justice before then. This means that the court will be missing an important pro-life Chief Justice.

He will need to have "time" to consider this nomination...plus, he has the hurricane to take care of (wouldn't want the dems to say he ignored that even more than they have)...the Iraq constitution,....9/11 Anniversary...

He has enough to do, the Senate needs to do THEIR job, and confirm Roberts...all in due time.
