It is a long stream of the keystone cops, but local is the most to blame. I keep asking how they did not have emergency plans? How the heck are you the mayor of a place and not know how you are going to get your destitute masses out of the way FAST??? WTHeck is that about? The local government knew they had drug addicted, criminals mixed in with very poor and innocent families in an unsafe and unkept city- how do they not have a plan at the local level to care for those people?

Exactly what I said to my husband.....when they were telling people who didn't have any transportation to go to the SuperDome.

Anyone with common sense could predict that cramping thousands inside that huge place with no electricity, no toilets, etc. would create another disaster.

There was plently of time for the NO Mayor to get those poor people out of there and to another state before Katrina struck.

I understand this is his first elected office......and I predict it will be his last!

Because of the bias of the MSM, they apparently cannot even see facts right in front of their noses that contradict their preconceived conclusions. The non-evacuation of New Orleans is one such story. The non-building of the levees above the Category 3 level is another.

We simply have to beat them over the head and shoulders with facts, facts and more facts. Sometimes, they can be backed off, sometimes embarrassed, and sometimes "headed" as with a mindless cattle stampede. LOL.

Um, maybe because they were under THREE FREAKIN' FEET OF WATER? All of the buses in that pic have their engines underwater. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon. To say that they should have been moved to high ground before the storm is hindsight B.S.

Why is it "hindsight B.S."? Bush isn't given the benefit of "hindsight" by not knowing the everything that was going to happen the day after the storm--the levee break, the looting, the shooting at relief workers and hospitals. His crystal ball was supposed to forsee all of the people needing to be moved out of the city, and was supposed to order a private carrier like Greyhound to go into that city and haul people out.

In my opinion, Nagin SHOULD have known the buses were in one of the lower areas of N'awlins and SHOULD have moved them out as soon as he found out the levee broke. Immediately. Even after the levee broke, what did he do?? From what I can tell, he did NOTHING.
