...if your timing is right for a flyover pass!
Or...you can charter a plane to do a flyover.
"For example, reports from Mobile AL have been few, and sketchy."
I saw 9-10 feet on 90, 16-17 feet at Ocean Springs and then everything went quiet until recently, with a civilian claiming 20 feet but describing more like 15 at Gulfport.
Even if NO dodged a bullet, which we won't know till Lake P. is back to normal levels, that doesn't mean the bullet evaporated.
"Super dome was NEVER in danger of going away. Still raining, still coming in. This was a first, this was a surprise"..
This was a barometer, Brian.
So...you "got it," huh? Glad someone did! :-)
Don't sweat it - some folks just take themselves way too seriously.
ANWR was stripped out of the Energy bill repeatedly, but it IS in the Budget Resolution which cannot be "filibustered". (I use filibustered in quotations because I'm a proceedural purist and what the Dems have been doing lately is not a filibuster in my sense of the word.)
Looks like Ohio's flag!
Wow! Some photo!
Our kids are ok. They stayed put and had lots of wind and water. They have no power and the base is closed for I do not know how long. Now we only have to get through the tropical wind storms that are forcasted for Memphis.
I assume their families are stuck in wolff hall now (or what it the buidling next door?) I got to go there for Hur. Elena (twice) in 85.
Yeah, it was a Cat 5 yesterday. Had it maintained that strength or even gone to top Cat 4, and had it track just a bit further to the west, it would be far worse for NO now. As it is, people listening to CNN that the worst is over might go outside to check on damage, just as a feeder band is moving in (like, right now). It'll ONLY be Cat 1 strength or so - but I guess I'm hyping the danger, even though Katrina killed 9 people in Florida when it was only a Cat 1.
Look, if all you're gonna do is whine about how this was covered, save it for tomorrow. This is still a deadly situation (most hurricane deaths nowadays are from inland flooding) - and we don't need an uninformed nimrod claiming that this is all hype.
"Coast Guard getting 100 requests for help from people trapped on roofs."
There was a submarine next to the Alabama. Any word on that or is it submerged?
Shep Smith just said he saw a Rick's Cabaret go down the street.
God does know what he is doing (LOL).
Happens all the time.

I've quoted this entire missive for everyone's benefit. If you feel like Diddle E. Squat does, I sincerely apologize. I sometimes try to ease a tense thread with some humor. If it wasn't appreciated here, I understand, and I respect that. I, too, being human, sometimes make bad judgement calls. If inserting what I hoped would be some tension-easing humor was one of those bad judgment calls, please accept my apology.
