NY TIMES INVESTIGATES ADOPTION RECORDS OF SUPREME COURT NOMINEE'S CHILDREN

**Exclusive**

The DRUDGE REPORT has uncovered a plot in the NEW YORK TIMES' newsroom to look into the adoption of the children of Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts.

The TIMES has investigative reporter Glen Justice hot on the case to investigate adoption records of Judge Roberts’ two young children, Josie age 5 and Jack age 4, a top source reveals.

Judge Roberts and his wife Jane adopted the children when they each were infants.

Both children were adopted from Latin America.

A TIMES insider claims the look into the adoptions are part of the paper's "standard background check."

Roberts’ young son Jack delighted millions of Americans during his father’s Supreme Court nomination announcement ceremony when he wouldn’t stop dancing while the President and his father spoke to a national television audience.

Previously the WASHINGTON POST Style section had published a story criticizing the outfits Josie’s and Jack’s mother had them wear at the announcement ceremony.

One top Washington official with knowledge of the NEW YORK TIMES’ plans declared: “Trying to pry into the lives of the Roberts’ family like this is despicable. Children’s lives should be off limits. The TIMES is putting politics over fundamental decency.”

One top Republican official when told of the situation was incredulous. “This can’t possibly be true?”

Hi again!

I am so mad at this latest NYTimes strategy! Do you know anything about Mary Cunningham Agee?

She set up a group to help executive women with - er - unplanned pregnancies. People may laugh and say there's no reason for them to care, but believe me, having worked in that environment for awhile, they are under a lot of pressure and it takes a lot of courage not to have an abortion.

One of my black friends in management, btw, was pressured into having an abortion and said she found out about Mary Cunningham Agee's activities too late - my friend (who had the abortion before I met her) had no place to go because her family and her friends kept telling her to have an abortion, and she didn't want to go stay in a house with a group of 14/16 year old kids.

It wouldn't surprise me if this group has had to move out of the country.

We have friends from northern Italy. As you say, they are blue-eyed, fair skinned, and blonde as can be. And their southern Italy darker complected(?) neighbors ain't got nothing on them for making the best pizza.
Even if the NYSlimes do not go with this investigation, they got Drudge to throw it out there for the public consumption.

Ira Levin, author of "The Boys From Brazil," could not be reached for comment. Sources say Karl Rove had him killed.

They don't look Hispanic or Indian, and I don't think blond hair is frequent even among the white upper class to our South

Actually it is, since Argentina and even Brazil have significant German and Italian populations, in addition to large populations of Spanish descent.

"Why did you go to Latin America when there are plenty of babies to adopt here?"

For the same reason why my brother and wife adopted 3 children from another country

It's not easy here and there is a long wait to adopt kids in this country

I imagine the pressure is tough. On one hand, it means loss of a really good salary (six figures or more) and also means leaving the world of work and losing the upper hand. http://www.nurturingnetwork.org/bio.htm This is the first time I've heard of this woman but I love her already.

And they never faulted Hillary and that truly low-rent black pants suit she wears.

...easily adopt children from another possibly European country.

It IS easy to adopt from many European countries - it just takes a lot of $$. Steve & I looked into it a couple of years ago. You can buy (excuse me, I mean "adopt") a kid for $30 K + several rounds of plane tickets from Romania, Belarus, & several other countries in the neighborhood. I read that kids in Romanian orphanages eat meat once a month, and a doctor only makes $50 a month. Somebody somewhere is putting 29K+ into their pockets.

Also less of a chance lawyers will be suing you for parental rights.

The fact that his children are adopted is going to be related to abortion in some way, I'm sure. But it can only make Roberts look good, which confuses me why the NYSlimes is bothering.

I had to laugh when I saw the picture of the buggy! My daughter just had a baby in May, and she, too, loved this look. Her in laws found a stroller that converts to a buggy for when the baby is small. The top comes off and doubles as a bassinet to take when you go to someones house.
It also converts to a regular stroller, a stroller that holds the car seat, and has larger wheels in back so it can convert to a "jogging" style stroller. My daughter calls it her Rolls Royce of strollers! It's called a "Bugaboo Frog" and retails for about $800.00!! She says she always feels like she should dress up when she uses it! Crazy price, but it is pretty impressive. Maybe if your family starts saving now...............LOL

Evidently many need to go back to seventh grade and lean some history and geography.

This thread shows me that our schools have done a lousy job educating people.

Never mind at least you can put on a condom.

Lots of people of color in South America.

Exactly! Mary Cunningham Agee has a sort of odd past (well, the Agee part...), but she has certainly redeemed it over the years. I saw her once in New York, at St. Pat's, where Cardinal O'Connor gave her an award for her work. She was a very nice, modest person, obviously very committed.

From the WSJ's "Best of the Web"

A poster on the Daily Kos, a site as influential on the left as it is deranged, wrote (ellipsis in original):

When Roberts thanked his family, he mentioned his son, Jack . . . Roberts' wife's face fell. It was like a poker tell. I think we should research Jack.

Another poster wrote that Roberts's son "is probably gay," explaining that "extreme conservatives seem to have a lot of homosexual children." Jack Roberts is 4 years old.

A week before the hearings they will parade around a weepy latin Anita Hill who will claim to be the mother, and claim that she was coerced, and demand that the kids be returned.

Can they possibly be stupid enough to think there wouldn't be a demand for DNA testing? Oh, PLEASE, walk on out on that limb. Disregard that sawing noise behind you - it's just birds in the nest, honest.
