Announcing the citizen movement to elect Dan Quayle in 2008.

America needs strong, simple leadership to overcome the challenges we will face in the future and to maintain the conservative hegemony we have fought for.

Dan Quayle is the best candidate to lead our party after GWB leaves office.

Please visit our website, and join the movement!

Yes.
Though sometimes the low tech baseball bat upside the head works wonders for trolls as well.

What has Mr. Quayle done for America since serving as Vice President - some 12 years ago?

He goes to the annual Bilderberger meeting every year along with Jonathan Edwards and John Kerry. That must count for something!

The sliming of Dan Quayle was the prototype for what the left is doing to Bush. You got away with it then because you owned the media. Not any more, pal.

"I'd vote for the guy. I don't know that enough other people would."

I'd vote for him too. Depending, of course, on whoever else is running.

He may have appeared a lightweight, which made him the butt of liberal jokes, but I think he is far smarter than he looks. His statements on single motherhood (Murphy Brown) were uncomfortable to many but painfully true. He was also correct in saying that the media, especially Hollywood, was driving politics & public opinion.

The sad thing is, "potatoe" is an acceptable alternative spelling.

Yes, it is. In fact, a century ago, it may well have been the preferred spelling.

The fact that the media did a number on Quayle is not necessarily determinative of whether he would be viable or not. There is going to be a considerable upheaval in both parties, before 2008, barring something very extraordinary. The reasons are complex, if attempted verbally. But a scan of what is going on, both in America and vis-a-vis with other lands, with whom we are very involved, together with a look at the complex factions of contemporary society, makes it very difficult not to see that something major is likely to develop.

For that very reason, however, it may be very premature to make any plans for 2008.

All of that said, I believe that Quayle would be a more principled man than some others being more prominently discussed.

But my point is, that it is way too early to make any sort of realistic assessment of the political climate.
