Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
In the last 15 years, Terri Schiavo has touched the world.
Nothing I have done in my life can compare to this and I would dare to say that nothing you have ever done would compare, either.
Terri has accomplished more than you or I could ever hope to.
Who are you to question that?

Nope. It was Greers mistake which he refused to correct. She was an adult.

A REMINDER:
Freepertoo said it so well:
"The trolls have stayed away from this thread because we have not encouraged them. We have had something of an oasis to pray and hope together. If you keep encouraging these people, who have been arguing all over the board in other threads, they will stay here and ruin this one as well. They do not CARE about common sense or compassion...they want to fight. They have been fighting since the beginning and anything you say here will not chage their minds. I implore you...STOP talking to them. Please."
On this thread at least... don't feed the trolls. We need some respite and this thread is it.
I hear you. Heck, I've said I would jump out a window if I couldn't lose ten pounds! I guess that g be cited as proof that I WANT to be starved to death!
Oh my gosh winston...I just KNOW you arent' talking about greer.
Not even Whittemore as he is not following the de novo law properly.
How can any judge review years of paper work in even 4 hours?
Can't be done. We have reason to hope that the 3 judge panel with be 1-2 this time instead of 2-1.
Republic - Send it to Drudge. He has a place on his web site where you can send him news tips. Good luck.
Hi, I'm back and shocked that we're still waiting. I did some heavy-duty research this morning and I don't understand why this Scientology connection isn't being talked about and investigated!!! They control Clearwater and people are scared to death to get involved.
These are satan's hordes who slipped into important positions while we were all going about our comfortable lives. Now our own government is either too scared to get involved, or already involved. And you thought Frank Peretti was writing fiction!
Do any of you know what scientology is?
One of Scientology's major goals is to change society's views about death, dying, and those L. Ron Hubbard considered to be "past the half-way point": the disabled.
Scientologists believe (1) that a disabled person is in such a state due to his or her own failings, (2) the disabled person will deliberately move in the direction of death, and (3) disabled people (Individuals who score low on the emotional tone scale) will also bring death to those around them. (See L. Ron Hubbard's book, Self Analysis, chapter 4)
"A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology."
Hubbard's doctrines ingrain a new definition of morality into his followers:
"The ONLY concern for a Scientologist is to do every thing he or she can to help Scientology. All other concerns such as family, profession, society and even the law of the land, are trivia unless they might impact on Scientology."
(Quote source: Scientology Founder: L. Ron Hubbard)
Hubbard considered handicapped people, and especially mentally handicapped people to be degraded beings, suffering from their transgressions in earlier lifetimes. His attitude about blacks is well known.
It is becoming increasingly clear that the Clearwater Bar Association is on cozy terms with the "Church" of Scientology. They choose to have their monthly meetings at the Fort Harrison HotelScientology headquarters. (See: Res Ipsa Loquitur) The Clearwater bar gladly endorses firms that litigate for Scientology. They even chose a Scientology attorney to present an award to Judge Greer for "passing the test" in the way he handled the Terri Schiavo case.
(Excerpt from TheEmpire Journal)
And...if you think they can't reach your neck of the woods...they're already in your kids schools! The World Literacy Crusadea Scientology reading program designed for public schools was endorsed by Jeb Bush. They have slipped into our government quietly. They have positioned themselves as lawyers, judges, police officers, and doctors.

Well, obviously, the 'stain of murder' business is your view. But you are entitled to it. If you would honestly choose the slurry and the diapers over going home to Heaven, then you can morally do that to Terri (absent consideration of her own wishes, of course). [I realize that most here have convinced themselves that she either didn't have any wishes or they weren't accurately communicated or whatever.] But, in any event, I commend you for your consistency.
Somehow, I just don't think most here would really choose the slurry and the diapers as you say you would. But perhaps that is the great division in our country right now. between those who would wish to cling to that type of 'life' for themselves and those who wouldn't.
I think that what we want for ourselves and for our deeply loved ones so colors our perceptions of the medical evidence, of the trial, the conduct of the guardian, the conduct of the courts, the conduct of the governor that we can hardly talk to those who would frustrate what we would want to do for ourselves.
That is certainly true for me. I have actually had to make these life and death decisions for a loved one and the importance and personal nature of that decision makes me impatient with those who would pontificate one way or the other to me.
Perhaps FR should implement a sytem such as E-Bay where you can identify ppl with some sort of quality reference. Disrupters never add to serious discussions, IMHO.
The email I sent you, was identical to one posted on another thread.
You attacked me for no reason.
Decent loving Christians never attack those who defend innocent people.
Stop your absurd threats that you'll get me thrown off after you called me a false Christian.
The language you use is highly abusive.
Knock it off and stop lying.
Mods can easily check your email and see that you're full of it.
You're getting quite scary.
It rather screams at what's wrong with the church today. They want a God who makes the feel good not a God who demands obedience.
Cannot cut and paste lengthy articles from here.

How did Grand Poobah Hubbard die?
Isn't scientology the new god of Hollywood also?
It is unwise to rush to have a living will done by practitioners from the same branch of government that has exercised this power to kill. I also worry that the wording might end up tied to funding or lack thereof in law for disability care, or, that if a person doesn't have one in future somehow, the physicians will just kill you by default. Interpretation of the wording now of such instruments will open its own vigorous law practice, and permit doctors to end the lives of people who might otherwise recover but for these documents. Finally, I do not want a euthanasia advocate dressed in sheep's clothing to hand me my hemlock-laced death warrant. I keep hearing the line from the old WWII movies, "Do you have your papers?"
The scientology angle came out very early here on FR in the first monster Terri thread.
I seem to remember spending several days on that one.
The names we DO recognize as coming her to disrupt, we need to avoid talking to.
