My wife spent 40 minutes on the phone with a Sprint service rep the other day clearing up $70 worth of charges for calls we didn't make. We were charged for roaming and it took a lot of convincing that nothing was wrong with our phones, that we don't use the roaming feature, etc, before the representative finally removed the charges. Turns out that our local paper has a story that others had the same happen to them. And they had to go through the same ordeal to have the charges removed. Too bad that Sprint thinks so little of customer's time. If you are a Sprint customer, be sure to watch that bill.
how many people won't fight the charges? to sprint goes the free money!!!
Thanks for the heads up, discipler.
In other news, a Roman was charged for sprinting.
Lots of people don't, I'm sure. Bellsouth charged me $200+ a month twice for a bill that was supposed to be $39.99. I'm not surprised that others don't just cut a check and not even look.

The only way around that is to set your phone to respond ONLY TO THE SPRINT DIGITAL NETWORK. Otherwise your phone will try to connect to other analog systems when it cannot find a Sprint node. You will pay then!!!
I keep mine, and I travel nationwide, set as above. No roaming charges and no long distance charges on my bill.
Check into it.
AT&T customers are getting screwed by Cingular now. I needed to replace a phone (one of three on the bill) that broke. The AT&T store where I purchased it six months ago, and signed a two year contract, is now a Cingular store. They have no AT&T replacement phones. They will sell you a Cingular phone, but you have to sign a new contract and extend for another two years. What B.S. The salesman was pushy to the point of being rude. I finally left, completely dissatisfied and decided to call Cingular. The wait time for the call was 220 minutes. What's that, like one dog year? What nonsense!
If you buy a year-long activation you can get 450 minutes for under a hundred bucks. If I need to make a long call I use my land line. If I need to call the wife from the grocery store, I can do it. If I need a phone on the road for emergencies, I have it.
When I started usng a cell years ago I was charged roaming but I was wel within the non-roaming coverage. That company (T Mobile) at the time said it was probably a problem with the towers or phone.
Quit Roaming around looking for a cell phone company.....Sprint on over to T-Mobile.......
I have had a problem with my gas company - changing the due date (earlier), and charging late fees when not paid by earlier date. I seldom send any check by mail anymore - because that can bring on that late fee.
The rep got the call reduced to $38 which I paid.
The next bill came with $150 charge for deactivation! I called in again and had it removed altogether.
Today I'm cellphone free. I'll stick to my SBC home phone.
Every time I call them and talk to them about it, they act like they have never heard of this problem. "We will be sure to turn this over to our Tier 22 technicians and get this resolved." Not a word back to me. Meanwhile, many people who own the phone say that experience the same problem that I have. The quality is so bad, that it renders the automated phone service useless. The automated system cannot tell what I'm saying (choppy sound). But has Sprint gotten back with me to see if the problem has been resolved? No!!!! Do they care that I have been a good customer and think about switching to another company at the first opportunity? Apparently not!!!
But before I go, I don't want to leave the impression that I'm totally dissatisfied with Sprint. The price of their service is pretty good (when they aren't overcharging for roaming that you didn't do). With the business account, my unlimited internet service is only $5 per month. And Treo 650 accesses both of my email accounts. The smartphone is a keeper if Sprint or Palm would fess up and fix the voice quality issue. Maybe they could give me one of those Bluetooth headsets :) I'm not holding my breath.
I had my bit with Sprint when they first started in business - no more. Now I use a local cell phone service - unlimited minutes, unlimited long distance for a flat rate per month. When I travel I use a Tracfone. No landline because I use VoIP at home. Unlimited VoIP is $25 a month, a landline is $45.00. VoIP includes unlimited long distance. With the landline I would have to pay long distance. I'm going to pay for the broadband anyway, so it just makes sense.
Interesting. I'm looking for a new carrier. I found one study/survey that found that Verizon had the most consumer satisfaction, followed by TMobile. I currently have TMobile but they refused to remove a different type of charges on my bill, approx. $70, so I was thinking of switching to Verizon.
Sprint royally screwed me when I resigned up. I think they must be having problems because even after talking to the management I still got screwed some more. $150 to disconnect, I'm almost there now.
