If you buy a year-long activation you can get 450 minutes for under a hundred bucks. If I need to make a long call I use my land line. If I need to call the wife from the grocery store, I can do it. If I need a phone on the road for emergencies, I have it.
When I started usng a cell years ago I was charged roaming but I was wel within the non-roaming coverage. That company (T Mobile) at the time said it was probably a problem with the towers or phone.
Quit Roaming around looking for a cell phone company.....Sprint on over to T-Mobile.......
I have had a problem with my gas company - changing the due date (earlier), and charging late fees when not paid by earlier date. I seldom send any check by mail anymore - because that can bring on that late fee.
The rep got the call reduced to $38 which I paid.
The next bill came with $150 charge for deactivation! I called in again and had it removed altogether.
Today I'm cellphone free. I'll stick to my SBC home phone.
I had my bit with Sprint when they first started in business - no more. Now I use a local cell phone service - unlimited minutes, unlimited long distance for a flat rate per month. When I travel I use a Tracfone. No landline because I use VoIP at home. Unlimited VoIP is $25 a month, a landline is $45.00. VoIP includes unlimited long distance. With the landline I would have to pay long distance. I'm going to pay for the broadband anyway, so it just makes sense.
Sprint royally screwed me when I resigned up. I think they must be having problems because even after talking to the management I still got screwed some more. $150 to disconnect, I'm almost there now.
Yet another dissatisfied Sprint customer who finally realized they don't give a damn about you, except for that wallet and checkbook in your coat.
Just wondering if anyone has ever had a cell phone company undercharge them. Never happens does it?

Sounds like the market is ripe for a new player, perhaps Virgin.
BTW one of the very few advantages of living in Canada is that none of the mobile networks here charge for roaming unless you leave the country.
I've actually had good luck with Alltel. We have had a couple of times where the charges seemed out of line but they were corrected in our favor.
If you can get rid of Sprint, do so. They are the worst cellular company. Their reception sucks and customer service is even worse. I wouldn't use a Sprint cell phone if it were free. I've had good experiences with Cingular.
