WISCASSET - Bail was reduced Friday for a Rockland couple facing felony charges stemming from injuries to the woman's 10-month-old son. Tracy Abel, 30, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and Mark L. Harding, 31, Abel's live-in boyfriend, is charged with felony assault on a child. They were arrested and jailed Thursday.
A doctor examining Abel's 10-month-old son became suspicious last month when she saw a large bruise on the infant's face and more bruising on his arms, legs and chest. She ordered X-rays, which showed both arms had been broken, as well as his left leg.
Abel was being held at Knox County Jail on $20,000 single-surety or $4,000 cash bail. Harding was being held on $40,000 single-surety or $8,000 cash bail.
Judge Michael Westcott reduced Harding's bail to $700 cash and Abel's to $500 cash. Abel also has a 3-year-old son, but there are no charges involving him, police said.

No they are not and the answer to whether they are out of control or not is am emphatic yes. Something needs to be done starting with impeaching Kennedy of SCOTUS for basing rulings on world opinion and personal politics.
Wasn't it inevitable, that when it was deemed acceptable for a woman to have her unborn baby killed in the womb, that it would not be long until the value of the lives of babies outside of the womb would be similiarly degraded; and in time, all human life.

The kid is safely out of their hands and it costs taxpayer money to keep 'em in jail, so why not let them get bail? They'll do their time later.

"Are judges out of control and out of touch?" Please, where have you been. They have been out of control for years. We are being driven to insanity by all forms of government. But the court have making and changing laws for years. But then the legislatures haven't been doing much for us. So I guess it is the blind leading the blind and getting worse.
considering the low bail and the seriousness of the charges it makes a lot of sense to walk.
and then they will have more babies, with each other or someone else.

You can't get a trademark on that. Its been in use as a valid defense in some states for years.
