GEFFEN UNLOADS ON HILLARY: 'SHE CAN'T WIN'
Thu Feb 17 2005 23:13:00 ET
Sen. Hillary Clinton should not count on help from Hollywood mogul David Geffen in her possible run for the White House.
Geffen, who was a generous supporter and pal of Bill Clinton when he was president, trashed Hillary's prospects last night during a Q&A at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.
"She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure," the billionaire Democrat told his audience. "And ambition is just not a good enough reason."
Lloyd Grove reports in fresh editions of the NY DAILY NEWS the audience broke with "hearty applause" over Geffen's comments.
Developing...
Ambition is not a good enough reason? Is he saying he didn't support John Kerry???
Dean and the bloggers are the two biggest road blocks to Hillarys ambition. How did the Clintons ever allow him to take over the DNC?
I really think Hillary will have a hard time playing outside major liberal states.
............and that's only that which is below her waist.
Who, in your estimation, would be bold enough to confront her?
"Ambition is not enough"?? You mean the socialist and communists aren't going to look the other way when she espouses American Values??
There is not one GOP name in circulation that can compete with Hillary Clinton for '08.
The right will have to go with a celebrity, if she runs, to counter her 'name' recognition. I'd suggest nominating someone like Tom Sellek (sp?) whose experience with that fat tard Rosie O'donnel indicates he's very pro-gun and might be right-leaning on other issues as well.
Added bonus: that "slammed-shut" sound would be the 'arousal gap' closing very quickly on the pantsuit pignoid.
Not if she gets the votes of convicted felons, which as we type she is trying to get their voting rights restored. The liberals hold the playbook and are writing the rules of the game. Forget Condi. Her new tag is Condelezza-lies-a-lot. (Catchy, huh?) But to most of the public, that's all it takes to discount a great person. The RNC can't attack her or her record, (the great right-wing conspiracy) and America Loves an Underdog. We need a strong Underdog and then make HER attack.
She just doesn't have that same ole zip she use too...Must be saddle sores from the broom stick.
Hillary also looks REALLY pasty and pale!
And look at her hand gesture!
Do you think she's a Wicca??
Hillary looks like she just rose
from her coffin.
That hand looks SO dead.
Yikes!!
What about Condi and John Cornyn from Texas as the top ticket? I am really starting to like Cornyn as he took Harry Reid out to the woodshed on the dems voting record...He's got pluck and if he goes in as Veep in -08, he could line up for '16...I definitely see Condi as THE contender against Hillary...
Hildabeast thinks she has hidden her tracks. Wait until 2006...all her evil deeds will start coming out. They'll not be anything that will stop it...not even the FBI files she has on soooo many. SHE'S TOAST!!!
Running Woman vs Woman might be a bad strategy.
Hillary is the Supreme B-itchy Mama,
and most people hate her for that alone.
If you run two women, we may lose
that advantage.
I say make the next election the ultimate
battle of the sexes...
MAN vs WOMAN
And watch Hillary fall.
She had a lot when she walked out of the White House with the silverware, etc.
Well, this is what is motivating her immigration talk.
No real Conservative or Republican is going to take her seriously. I don't believe she'd enforce law anymore than another would on this issue. I don't believe she even thinks she'll win many Conserves/Reps with this pretension.
The idea is to keep a sensitive issue with Reps on the front burner. To keep the tension building and then press the right emotional button during the election so that we'll split.
"You think Boxer is going to run?"
Yes. While I don't agree with her take on things I get the sense that for the Dems. Boxer will represent the same thing as the Clintons only without the grotesque narcissicism and criminal baggage.
I see. By split you mean splitting off conservative voters by pretending conservative values. I guess it could work, particularly if her opponent is moderate. I suspect her husband is advising her to do just that, since it worked for him.
Woo hoo! The applause is a good sign . . . very good.
