You don't have to take it from us about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton 's desire to run for president. Her brothers, Hugh and Tony Rodham, say it's true. Friends tell us that the two are cheering Sis on and say she's making all the moves to get ready for the race--presuming she is re-elected by New Yorkers in 2006.

she has to get a presidential campaign up and running PRONTO
She already has the full service of the Clinton machine. She already has funds from supporters. She already has IOU's from dozens of state Dems. She already has her people in place at the DNC (remember how they infiltrated the campaign to 'help' John Kerry? yeh, right, 'help' Kerry).
She has been 'running' for the Presidency since Bill was elected in 1992.
The biggest thing in her favor is that too many Pubbies think she is harmless and can't win, so they won't take her seriously. Unless the Pubbies can find a new-face, super-star to combat her, she has a clear shot right back into the White House. Pubbies will underestimate her and her power base and her electability at their peril.

Yes, I agree.
I should have stated that as well.
I believe that if Bill dies, the democratic party would turn it's back on Hillary in a NY moment, at least as far as the Executive is concerned.

But I don't count on it. I do know a gym owner here in Port Saint Lucie that had really major heart surgury, just like clinton had. He did look like hell for a year or so, but then he went on to set a world record in powerlifting with the APF just a year or so ago.

Remember, this is the same electorate that chose her husband....twice. By less than 50% each time.
The 1st time was won because Ross Perot took the Conservative vote away from Bush 41.
The 2nd time was won because Bob Dole was way beyond his prime.
All that is needed to defeat Hillary Clinton is a good Republican candidate that will turn out the base and the swing voters.
And this candidate should never allow Hillary to play the victim when she is confronted about her shortcomings.
Hillary gets sympathy when she is on the defensive unless....the confrontation is a play on her arrogance.
For example, "Hillary Clinton talks down to people, treats them as schoolchildren, acts as she is above the average American"....

I can't wait for the '08 Dem primaries...Kerry vs. Gore vs. Hillary!
No contest. Hillary wins easily. Gore and Kerry will be gone after the first several primaries.

All that is needed to defeat Hillary Clinton is a good Republican candidate that will turn out the base and the swing voters. When Hillary takes the 'conservative' side on issues that appeal to a majority of people and the so-called 'Republicans' allow her to run with it as if she truly believes what she is championing, she wins. They are gutless wonders, even when they comprise the majority of Congress and the Senate.
Take illegal immigration, for example. She stakes a claim on a view that Libertarians and many FReepers agree with before the Republican wimps wipe the sleep from their eyes. Hillary indeed has 'shortcomings' such as her arrogance, but her chutzpah makes her a mover and shaker. She continues to steamroll her way to power.
Unless we demand more of our elected representatives NOW, I expect we'll be hearing 'Mrs. President' and talking about that slimeball 'First Husband' four years from now.

If she wasn't interested in the job, she and Bill would have been divorced years ago.Of course she's in. But that's not why they haven't divorced. That would be due to that little clause about spouses not being compelled to testify against each other.
To: SheLion
Hitlery has brothers??!! You know, I know very little about her personal lifeYes, she has brothers.
Tony and Hugh Rodham. Tony was married for a while to Barbara Boxer's daughter and they produced a child (at least one) before divorcing. Hugh was involved in selling pardons (gosh, now that I think about it, I think they both were).
Both brothers joined together during the clinton years to start what seemed to me an overt money laundering scheme; launching a hazelnut business over in Russia or some country thereabouts. The "business" seemed too shady for even the MSM to abide and it was abandoned.
Oh, and Tony was found in a compromising position in some decrepit piece of Rodham family real estate with some gal--neighbor's girlfriend? and that's what led to the divorce.
How'd you miss these characters? Tasteless and tacky just begins to describe these two cretins.

I know enough about her not to like her anyway. But I appreciate you filling me in about the brothers.
Come to think of it, I have heard about them. Nice family, eh? :)

"CONDOLEEZZA 2008!!!"Unfortunately, the reality is that if the Republicans pitted Condi against Hillary, Hillary would be our next president. The racism, cynicism and disdain the press and Dems have will be multiplied ten-fold and they will stop at absolutely nothing to ensure Hillary wins. The unfortunate side for Condi is that the majority of voting Americans are conservative (conservative in the sense of preserving the status-quo) are not ready for a woman and sadly that probably goes double for a black woman. I wish I was wrong, it's possible but I don't think so.
We know that Hillary the presidential candidate is going to have every liberal democrat and left-leaning press room firmly in her cheering section. The Republicans are going to have to come up with a virtually flawless (no skeletons and nationwide appeal) candidate. Either that or they are going to have to get down and dirty, pull out all the stops and torpedo Hillary as soon as her ship sets sail.

First, she'll make the pledge while winking at the crowd. They'll know she doesn't mean it and won't care. After, re-election, she'll do a listening tour to select audiences who'll confirm that they want her to run.
Second, most of the democrats will think the defeat of the republicans completely justify this.
Third, too many women will swallow the 'it's time for a woman president' koolaid.
Fourth, Bill made the same pledge in Arkansaw.
DING DING DING..!!!!
WE HAVE A WINNER..!!!!

I'm sure Hillery has a long list of things she is planning take away for the common good and it isn't taxes. I look for the gun cabinets and their contents to go next. We have already lost Christmas and any thing connected with Christ. The right to assembly will change to assembly for the right kind of things. Forget passing on your estate to your children. But we will get free health care. I hope their is enough cemetery space to bury the dead.
