Assemblyman Jeff Stone (R-Greenfield) has been pestering the Milwaukee Election Commission to report how many people registered at the polls on November 2. Initially, they reported to him on Wednesday that about 8,000 people registered at the polls that day, out of about 255,000 votes cast, about 380,000 voters registered as of the September election (and an estimated 20,000-30,000 registrants between that point and the cutoff point for preregistration), and 565,000 residents (including about 430,000 adults) in the city. Now, they report a few VERY disturbing things:

A couple of things to point out. First, President Bush lost the state by about 12,000 votes. Second, there are now more registered voters in Milwaukee than there are adults in Milwaukee.

But where is the national media?

Where is Dan Rather? Pelosi? ABC News? CNN?

Clinton blamed the 24-hour news cycle for his impeachment: that's what he wrote in his library statement.

Where is the 24-hour news cycle when there's (democratic) corruption going on in Washington and WI and PA and DE and CA?

/sarcasm

Um, not exactly. In Wisconsin you DO need acceptable evidence that you live in the precinct you're voting in. Drivers license is valid, also utility bills for a valid address.

Good. But my reference to the lack of documentation requirements for voters (post 41) was to North Carolina, not Wisconsin.

Sadly, yes, I have a pretty good idea, and it involves pandering to the illegals. Well that's one reason, and the dems will never go for it because it eliminates fraud.

And the ACLU will claim its unfair because transgender people may not be dressed as the same sex as the person on their license.

It could even be connected to the state department showing the death rolls, so the dead couldn't use their licenses to vote after dying.

I'm not certain how it works across the boarder in Cheeseland, but here in Minnesota, you can also same day register if there is a person with you to vouch for you.

The dems had teams of people set up to vouch for whoever asked for it. ACT actually had paid teams, its well documented in the chronicles. They would go around and vouch, whether the person they vouched for lived in that precinct or not.

I'm not certain if it works over there that way, but here the system is ripe for fraud. And I'm also fairly certain voter signatures at the rolls are never compared to the sigs on file. The only way to do this would be to have them sign a computer pad, which brings up the sig on file to instantly see if they match.

It's the same here in Wisconsin. We had professional "vouchers" at almost every polling location. "Provisional ballots" initiated through HAVA were intended to alleviate this problem, not sure it ended up working that way.

This is an old article, but I thought it might be of interest:

Observers see its death; Communists convening in Milwaukee say otherwise

If you felt that slight tremor out of Appleton on Friday, not to worry.

Lenin look-alike Kevin Neish isn't a party member, let alone a revolutionary. 'I'm just here for entertainment,' the straight-faced Canadian visitor said Friday.

We share many things in common with the long history of the Communist Party and all those engaged in the fight for a decent life for working people.
- Mayor John O. Norquist,
in a letter to the Communist Part U.S.A. convention, on Milwaukee's socialist history

That was just Wisconsin native and world-renowned Red-baiter Sen. Joseph McCarthy tossing in his grave as the Communist Party U.S.A. opened its 27th national convention in Milwaukee.

About 400 delegates and guests gathered at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Union to kick off the convention, which runs through Sunday. It began with a thunderous rendition of the workers anthem "Solidarity Forever" and a standing ovation in absentia for Mayor John O. Norquist, who touted Milwaukee's socialist history in a letter welcoming the delegates.

"In that sense, we share many things in common with the long history of the Communist Party and all those engaged in the fight for a decent life for working people," Norquist said in the letter read by aide Daisy Cubais.

Before it adjourns Sunday, the party is expected to elect a new National Committee and pass resolutions on a broad range of issues, from education, racism and immigrant rights to solidarity with the Palestinian people's effort for self-determination.

Today, the Communist Party is strongest on the East Coast, in California and in a handful of Midwestern states, although its numbers in Wisconsin have dwindled.

"We're trying to rebuild the party here," Webb said.

Follow-up story:

Mayor didn't see letter, aides say: Greeting welcomed Communist Party to city for convention

A statement issued Friday by Mike Soika, Norquist's chief of staff, said the mayor agreed to write a welcome letter for the group, which is common for visiting conventions. He said the letter was written by an unidentified staffer and not reviewed by Norquist, who is on a family vacation. He said Norquist "does not endorse Communist ideology and condemns many elements of Communist history."

The letter has been heavily criticized on local talk radio and became fodder for some national media attention, including a mention in the Drudge Report online.

Simple solution. Get a CD copy of the statewide address file from USPS. Have a PC (with CD) at every polling place. Look up voter addresses on CD, reject bad addresses. Reject illegible registrations. Prosecute all fraud. This last one is the biggie: prosecute consistently, and people won't even TRY it unless they're really stupid.

The Pubbies tried just that in Milwaukee, but even after submitting that evidence, along with photographic evidence of the non-existance of dozens of addresses, to the Milwaukee Election Commission, a grand total of ZERO addresses were purged. Also, the DemonRATs control both the local and state levels of prosecution here.

For those of you not in the broadcast range of WTMJ-AM, they also broadcast on the Web (click the link to get to their main page, then find the "listen live" link there).
