The idea that "there's no fair way to determine intent" is incorrect. It is CLEAR that they intended NOT to vote for ANYONE in that race. I agree that the ballot should be thrown out.

Apparently, Democrats cannot grasp the fact that voters don't always vote for every race on the ballot. WTF is "intent"? If I don't know anything about a candidate or I don't like either candidates(s), I don't vote in that race.

What I would like to see is a "None of the above" choice mandated for all races where there is only one winner possible (wouldn't work where, say, 3 of 5 candidates are to be elected, such as in school board elections). No ambiguity as to "intent". Of course, it'll never happen.

What does the rest of the ballot look like? Did they do this all the way down the ballot or just on the govs race? If all the way down the whole ballot should be discarded, if not the Govs race shouldn't count. I would like to see the whole ballot.

Since the tracking marks only run down the left side of the ballot, it would be impossible to vote the same way in every race.

But there are other races on the left side. Did they fill in the bubbles on the Lt. Gov. race? Did they not vote on anything else? Did they fill bubbles on the right side of the ballot?

The outcome of this recount is based on fraud. Dino and the republicans need to be agressive and fight this. Dino won 2 out of 3, he's it!

I really don't think it matters. A few scribbles over the tracking marks simply can't be counted as votes. It's not like circling the names or the party designations, where the intent is clear, even though the voter is too stupid to follow directions.

It may be that the voter intended to vote for Gregoire. It may not be. But where the intent is not crystal clear, a vote cannot be counted.

You know, Jim Crow was kinda racist, but there must be something that can be done about this. I mean, how stupid can one be, to not fill in the obvious ovals, and instead, try to blacken a space THATS ALREADY BLACKENED!?! I mean really! This vote should not be counted, if only for the reason that someone that stupid could not have POSSIBLY made an informed choice.

"The GOP should learn from this and be ready to out-fraud the _____'ers next time. We are smarter than they are . We can do it easily."

No. Fraud is not an option for us. First, we do not have the long experience committing fraud that Democrats have. Second, we are not comfortable with it, so someone will turn state's evidence. Third, if one Republican gets caught, that will be the big news story, and that case will be used by the media to show that "both sides" are equally guilty of fraud. Fourth, Republicans generally will not support those in their ranks who break the rules. They will distance themseleves from the offender, where the Democrats are more likely to support the wrongdoing Democrat. The field operatives on each side know this, and you will find many more Democrats ready to do the dirty deeds. (Not always. Many crats were sacrificed to save Bill Clinton's butt, but in general crats support their own wrongdoers more than Republicans do.)

But the big reason is number one --that we don't have a long and proud tradition of voter fraud, so we would not be as good at is as Democrats.

I think it does matter, and we are on the same side here. If this ballot has a scribble on the Govs race but circles filled in on the rest of the ballot, it would show that this person didn't want to vote in the govs race, but someone else made that mark. If there are no marks in the circles but only on the tracking marks then the ballot should be cast out. If this voter was so stupid as to scribble the tracking marks, how did he vote on the other side where there are no marks?

In other words no matter what this ballot is bogus. A full picture of the ballot would do more to confirm it.

OK. I misunderstood your point.

Follow the link to the Blog, then it has a link to the report on KING5 TV. The picture is a video capture, hence its poor quality.

Huh? Two wrongs don't make a right.

The fact that they have to resort to criminal activity (not to mention endless recounts) in their attempts to win elections speaks volumes about the rat party.

"Who can I send money to for fighting these vote thieves in Washington?"

The Republicans in Washington have grown a pair. Big ones. Visit http://dinorossi.com/ to help out.

Here is a look at a portion of the King County sample ballot as posted on their website -- fake name, of course, but you can use this to see where the bubbles supposed to be (I'm trying to enhance the bubbles on the photo above; if successful, I'll post it):

There's no way a voter made that mark. Voters don't carry felt pens into the voting booth, and the absentee ballot is an arrow-match, is it not?

This ballot is a tampered one.

What am I looking for.

I did some work on this image trying to sharpen it up some. Only partly successful. Inverting the colors made the "ovals" more distinct, but somehow the brain(mine, at least) has difficulty dealing with a negative doc. The problem is we don't know if this is an original document. Probably is, and if it is, it clearly does NOT show a vote cast for Gregoire, or anyone else for that matter.

FYI:

Enhanced view of the photo above -- THE ONLY MODIFICATIONS I made to the original were (a) to sharpen the image somewhat; and (b) to modify brightness and contrast settings -- particularly in the areas of the optical scan bubbles. So this image is still faithful to the original.
