We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.

For the few who might not know, Logan is one of our adopted Finest little ones - he and his cousin, Christian, both are Dave's grandsons, and he cares for them often.

FYI, Tonk, from the Live Web Cam in Fairbanks, Alaska, here is how it is at 12:49 p.m. their time... 5 degrees and light snow, and losing 6+ minutes of light daily...

First, the normal daytime view from the Web Cam on the Chena (CHEE-na) River:

Having days on end in my 3 1/2 years in Fairbanks when the HIGH for the day was 40 below, and hung around 50 below zero, was a challenge!

I adapted surprisingly well, though, after easing into it from my home state of Florida to South Dakota for one year, and THEN Fairbanks!

Still happiest with a tempered climate, and don't care to shovel snow and scrape ice ever again..:))

The worst snowfall here in this part of South Carolina is when in Spring the dogwood trees release their petals, cascading on breezes to the ground..:))
