Close up pics of Kerry's "notes"
Frames of Debate Video ^ | Oct 3, 2004 | Jeff Head

Posted on 10/03/2004 2:01:20 PM PDT by Jeff Head

Here are the specific frames from the debate video shoqing most clearly what Kerry had in his hand as he took it out of his pocket and placed it on the podium.

I have taken two of the frames, lightened them, zoomed in, and sharpened the pics. No other enhancements have been made:

Cropped, lightened original of Kerry pulling item from pocket.

Enlarged and sharpened.

Cropped, lightened original, of Kerry putting article down.

Enlarged and sharpened.

never underestimate just how low they will go .

Agreed. but they are not counting on the American people in general having a lick of sense, or the moral fortitude to do what is right. They are going to be proven wrong on this IMHO, and in a much larger way than they imagine.

But, WHY Lehrer in the first place? Surely Pres. Bush and the people around him understand PBS is NOT on his side? If they don't we're in more trouble than I thought.

Any way you cut it...he took something from his pocket and put it on that podium. Something tangible.

That, irrespective of what it was, was against the rules. That's all I am saying. I believe it looks like notecards, but I am perfectly willing to say that without further resoultion of the pics, I can't say for sure, or what (if anything) was on them. But, according to what follows...none of that matters according to the rules.

From section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" (pdf file) that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns:

(c) No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.

... (d) Notwithstanding subparagraph 5(c), the candidates may take notes during the debate on the size, color and type of paper each side prefers. Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium, table or other structure to be used by the candidate in that debate.

There's the attitude I wanted to hear!

You are right, it could have been any of those things. And a teleprompter, or PocketPC, might fit.

I'm not sure exactly what it was...I just know it violated the agreed to rules.

No wonder he took so much time pretending to be writing while he was actually memorizing his next lie. . . he didn't even have to listen to his opponent, so his anger was kept in check while Bush was infuriated by all Kerry's
lies.

he would have had to take them back off with him.

If what he brought were written on the same type of card as on the podium, in his own hand, then he wouldn't have had to remove the cards afterwords.

For the next debate it would be fun to replace the blanks on his podium with bright green cards just before he arrived. He wouldn't dare be flashing cards of another color during the debate.

Hey AuntB! Thanks. That's always my attitude. Jarbidge, Klamath, Florinda, etc., etc. The left/liberal/marxist/globalists are angry because they are now facing and being outdone by an energized and active right!

And memo to Dick Cheney -- DO NOT MAKE LIGHT OF THIS DURING YOUR DEBATE.

Oh how I wish the Vice President would have the opportunity to bring it up. In my brief debate fantasy, he would say, "rules are rules and votes are votes, two things our opponents don't seem to understand or respect."

Kerry did not win the debate. Bush lost it. He simply turned in a bad performance.

I think you're mistaken.

Bush wasn't the one crapping "global test" out his piehole. Kerry blinked first, and made a major mistake. What a STOOOOOPID idiot!

I stated that I saw him looking down, off and on during the debate. I thought he might be just thinking because I missed the entrance maneuver. Can't recall which post I responded to, but that time no one commented on it.

I haven't heard any news person comment on this subject.

Kerry was looking down al ot, all of the time...seemed to be thinking or writing. I believe he may have been consulting what he laid down on the podium.
