Rush is reporting that the docs came from the Kerry campaign and that the campaign knew that were fakes.

Recall the attempted 1988 ambush by Ra^ther on then VP George HW Bush live on the seeBS Evening News? GHWBush insisted on a live interview, and when the lead-in report was a big hatchet job on him regarding Iran Contra, GHWBush tore little Dannie a new one in a big time fashion. At the time, Bush had been portrayed as a light-weight, and this interview changed many opinions, much to Dannie's dismay.

CBS and the MSM characterized the whole thing as a trap that Bush had sprung on Ra^ther. (Never mind that it was DR's own show, and he was in control of the whole thing, not the Vice President.) The incompetance of CBS News' operation collapsed and backfired on them, and they tried to blame George HW Bush.

Now today, the same CBS players tried to ambush George W. Bush, and their incompetance has caused it to blow up in their faces yet again. And yet again it appears they are going to try to falsely blame "evil Republicans" such as Karl Rove for their being duped.

At the same time, Terry McAuliffe is asserting that CBS was set-up by Karl Rove. So, here is the DNC saying the docs are forgeries, and CBS is saying the documents are authentic.

How bizarre! The article Bush Lied on democrats.org says President Bush needs to answer the questions that are raised by the documents, but McAuliffe says the documents are forgeries?

Why should anyone have to answer charges based on phony documents? Where is the logic?!!!

I think Rather actually said the seriousness of the charges is more important than the authenticity of the documents.

Rather, basically: "It may not be true, but what does it say about Bush's character that people would spend this amount of energy forging documents about him? Now THAT is the real story!"

That is what he is doing. Plus, he is repeating reports made by CNN and others. Finally, he is speculating as to how the media, the DNC, the Kerry campaign, and 527 might be coordinated.

If there is one axiom I have noticed to be true and thats if a career can be made it doesnt matter who they take down. If a sharp nosed reporter at ABC can tie this to Kerry or McCauliffe, it doesnt matter if the rest of the program supports them they will take down there mark.

LMAO. Great pic. Anyway, it is rather astonishing that CBS would fall for something so obviously fake. I mean, what kind of expert does it take to see that a font didn't exist at the time the doc is dated? But the key in all this is looking at the forging 'expert' called upon to do the dirty work. What probably happened was that the perpetrators hired a forger they thought was an expert but who really turned out to be totally incompetent. That's where the breakdown occured; the hired the wrong hack. It is conceivable that once it was produced, in their hurry to get it publicized, and assuming it was a pro job, no one bothered to think about what they were looking at.

Talk about bias. Talk about being bent on destroying the Bush presidency! Rather is unbelievable. It's not the nature of the evidence, it's the seriousness of the charge eh?

If only they'd take the same stance with the admitted war attrocities done/said by Kerry. Or why haven't the Swiftvets been on the today show or 60 Minutes II?
