Friday, August 13, 2004 - WHAT if the single pivotal event of one's life the moment that altered one's entire course, illuminating the path ahead, providing that critical psychological turning point turned out to have been an invention of one's very own?

While it may be extreme to say that Kerry "lied," I don't really get it. This author uses the whole column to say that Kerry lied, then says it's "too extreme" to say Kerry lied.
Is fabricated a better word for some reason?

This would have all come out MONTHS ago, during the Democratic primary, in time for them to select a different candidate if it wasn't that the press didn't want to cover it for some reason.

Sheesh, next thing you know they'll claim he made up his landing on Mars! ;)

"Like many Americans, I'm reluctant to second-guess anyone's wartime performance."
No one is questioning his wartime performance, the question is whether the reports submitted for his medals (and subsequent statements) are factually correct and whether those medals were received under fraudulent circumstances.

What is it with democrats? Can't they nominate someone for national office is not mentally ill... who is not overtly psychotic (Gore, possible Kerry), a serial sexual predator (Bill Clinton), dangerously incompetent (Carter), a sociopathic lawyer (Edwards, the Clintons), or a terminal mega-narcissist (all of the above).
Every aspect of Kerry's memories, utterances, and official "history" are completely fraudulent. He is a pitiful charlatan, absolutely pathetic, unfit for any office requiring moral character.

Ok January 69 not December 68...
But he still wasn't sent by Nixon.
He still wasn't in "an area between Viet Nam and Cambodia" (There isn't any)
He still wasn't in a part of the Mekong River that forms a border between the two countries. (There isn't any such place).
So they have more lying to do.

She seems to not get it?
Kerry is a LIAR. This woman obviously has a problem with fact. Maybe it's the fact that both liar and fact seem to be four letter words that describe what Kerry is and what Kerry fears most.
This needs a barf alert.

Who, when accidentally knocked off his snowboard as an adult fumed, "I don't fall down.' How pathetic is that! It takes a SMALL man who refuses that he makes mistakes. Even professional athletes occasionally screw up and ADMIT it. But NOT Kerry. He has to be PERFECT at all times. This is why he can't back off that PHONY Cambodia story. All he did was revise the date from December to January so he could include Richard Nixon in his narrative (although it is a stretch since Nixon was only President for 10 days in January, 1969). This failure to admit error will cost the Ketchup Boy bigtime.

Another way to look at this. Kerry now says he doesn't know if he was in Cambodia. Hmmm Do we really want a Comander-in-Chief who doesn't even know where he is in a time of war?

Kerry made his 4 1/2 months' tour of duty the centerpiece of his qualifications to be President. That is about the length of time for a summer job during college. It happened about the time many of us "baby boomers" were in college. So who among us thinks his own college summer job qualifies him to be President?

The tsunami is slowly, slowly, slowly building and about to come crashing onshore in Massachusetts. Doug, I hope and pray you're right.
This story acquired giant legs in spite of, not because of, the "unbiased" major media. What a triumph for non-major media!!!

I personally believe blow-hard, bad judgment Kerry is not just a very inadequate and pathetic person. He is also psychotic. He actually believes in his delusions that he is Martin Sheen being sent on a secret mission to Cambodia in his own Apocalypse Now.
Disagree with my delusions? I'll sue you for slander!!!
