Are you saying a movie about John Kerry's Vietnam service is released in theaters in September?

Take a look at this, if you can stomach it:

U.S. Naval Support Base Activity Detachment Sa Dec (1966-1971)

Located on the south bank of the Mekong River in the center of the Republic of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, Sa Dec was the site of a forward combat base during the Vietnam War. A ten boat section of River Division 52 first deployed there during the summer of 1966 as part of the Game Warden operation, which sought to interdict enemy logistic traffic on the larger rivers.
Naval leaders chose Sa Dec as a staging area because the city lay astride the key waterway of the area and was accessible to logistic support vessels steaming upriver from the South China Sea. In addition, a Vietnamese Army compound there contained adequate facilities, including a boat yard and a small marine railway for the intermediate-level repair of river patrol craft.

A detachment of Naval Support Activity, Saigon provided the combat unit with logistic support and oversaw base development, including the installation of a pontoon pier. Fuel storage bladder, and a boat ramp. The naval facility at Sa Dec was turned over to the Vietnamese Navy as part of the Vietnamization program in April 1971.. ABM

Yea, he'll have the Vietnamese playing the Americans and Americans playing the Vietnamese. Now that would be a Kerry Documentary.

Talking point is wrong! Kerry didn't volunteer to go to Vietnam. He volunteered, as we know, for the navy when he was due to be drafted (immediately) in the army following the denial of his request for a deferment. Keep telling the truth. Also, most young adults do not know about the draft and the numbering system used at that time. Kerry's number meant immediate induction, and George Bush's number did not.

BTW Both men were sons of aviators. Kerry spent a great deal of his senior year learning to fly. Why didn't he volunteer for the air force? Could it be his JFK fetish was/is so great that he had to be in the navy and also the man in charge on a small boat?

Someone needs to dress in a Santa suit and follow Kerry to every appearance he makes with a sign that says, "Tell us about Christmas in Cambodia!"

That made me laugh out loud! And everyone (besides me) is sleeping (and I should be!)

If that's where he was, he was about 75 miles from the Cambodian border.

Does that mean that, if a Madhi-army idiot fires an RPG at, say, a stryker, and one of the soldiers in the stryker gets out, and chases him down, and shoots him as he's fleeing, he's a murderer? You're forbidden from shooting fleeing enemy soldiers?

Listen, I hate Kerry, I'm not voting for him, but this is one thing about his past where I'm not really bothered. Putting himself in for a Silver Star over the incident is a bit much. I also never said that he was a "hero" for chasing down a wounded VC. I was under the impression that if someone fired at you, and ran, you could still kill them, in context of a war. Now, if it's proven the kid surrended, and Kerry shot him anyway, that's a different story.

Am I wrong? Someone set me straight if I am, please.

I think you got the liar nailed ma'am. Powerline is a great blog (accurate, well researched, well written, often insightful). I read it often. But then two of the three writers there, maybe all three, are lawyers, one at THE elite law firm in Minneapolis. :)

The clintons are hoping (not praying because it won't help them) that this story gets and keeps a long set of legs.

Well, now that we know that the Kerry oppo people monitor this board, I have something to say:

Hey fellas. Your pompous ass candidate never figured that the Clintons would find such an ingenious way to stab your boy in the back. They don't need to say a thing; just call a few editors here and there to allow their gatekeeper friends in the media to start moving this story from the blogs, the Washington Times and the National Review, outwards to the mainstream press.

The Swifties sort of fell into Hillary's lap, or so it seems.

You never counted on FBI files on liberal Democratic senators being perused, did you? And you don't think that the Clintons didn't have someone run over a copy of Gilligan's 201 File (or the Navy version thereof) so that Bill and Hill could have a look see? I do.

I am beginning to suspect that your boy's fatal mistake was to attempt to diss the Missus at the Convention. Is your candidate stupid, or is he really stupid? You only get to choose one.

You forgot one thing: nothing can be left to chance for Hillary. She wants 2008. She will crawl over John Freakin's dead body to do it.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Indonesia of course! I love islands in particular, and I love the shape of The Celebes (sp). It is sort of like some multi limbed insect.

No, you're not wrong. Killing a fleeing enemy, wounded or not, is fair game. Writing oneself up for a Silver Star for doing same is a bit much though.
