Peaceful religion isn't spelled I-s-l-a-m: Quran verses contradicting Muslim claims

Certainly there are those within Islam who do not subscribe to the atrocities I am about to discuss, but their peaceful practice of Islam doesn't make it a peaceful religion. A peaceful religion is similar to that of Richard Gere and his Buddhist brethren.

Professor Moshe Sharon of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem writes:

Islam was born with the idea that it should rule the world ... Judaism speaks about national salvation – namely that at the end of the story, when the world becomes a better place, Israel will be in its own land, ruled by its own king and serving God. Christianity speaks about the idea that every single person in the world can be saved from his sins, while Islam speaks about ruling the world ... quoting a verse in English ... 'Allah sent Mohammed with the true religion so that it should rule over all the religions.' The idea, then, is not that the whole world would become a Muslim world at this time, but that the whole world would be subdued under the rule of Islam ... Wherever you have Islam, you will have war. It grows out of the attitude of Islamic civilization.

Consider: There are about 400 recognized terrorist groups in the world. Over 90 percent of these are Islamist groups. Over 90 percent of the current world fighting involves Islamist terror movements. The vast majority of world terrorism is religiously motivated by Islam.

This includes Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Lebanon, Indonesia, all of the Emirates, Sudan, Philippines, India, Libya, Algeria, Malaysia, Spain, Morocco, Yemen, Syria, Tunisia, Jordan and, finally, what they call the "occupied territory" – Israel. Louis Farrakhan is the face of Islam in America. Is his message one of peace?

According to a recent story in WorldNetDaily, "A British Muslim convert characterized an alleged mission to bomb the Israeli embassy in Australia as his obligation to Allah to perform jihad ..." The man went on to say, "As Muslims we are obligated to perform jihad to uphold the laws of Allah, the truth on his earth."

There have been Baptists calling for Hollywood to produce programming fit for family consumption – but I cannot point to Baptists calling for Hollywood to be destroyed because it is comprised of Jews and infidels.

There exist doctrinal differences between Wesleyans, Nazarenes and charismatics – most notably on the subject of glossolalia – but I have never heard these groups refer to one another as infidels or call for annihilation. But true followers of Islam cannot make that claim.

According to Dr. Mark Gabriel ("Islam and Terrorism"), "There are 114 verses in the Quran that speak of love, forgiveness and peace (Meccan verses). All are abrogated by Sudah 9:5, known as 'The Verse of The Sword,' which came later in Muhammad's life (Medina):

Find and slay the pagans [non-Muslims] wherever you find them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them, in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent [convert to Islam], and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, them open up a way for them: for Allah is oft forgiving, most merciful ...

– Surah 9:5

I cannot think of any practicing Catholics I know who would be overjoyed if their daughter married an unrepentant atheist. But I am unwaveringly confident that their priest would not call for her to be stabbed or axed to death for having brought dishonor to the family. Yet, as WorldNetDaily reported in April, that is exactly what a Muslim Jordanian man did to his 8-months pregnant sister. And a Muslim Kurd murdered his 16-year-old daughter for starting a relationship with a Lebanese Christian boy in September 2003.

WND further reported "an anthropologist's study said dozens and probably hundreds of brutal 'honor killings' of Palestinian women and girls ... annually go unreported." Such occurrences have taken place in the United States. Some may try to dismiss or argue away these examples as anecdotal, but they are anything but.

The recent beheading of Nick Berg sickened us, but this act was practiced and sanctioned by Muhammad himself.

In an article published by Barnabas Fund on May 14, "Hundreds of Christians die in bloody massacres in Kano," the Christian Association of Nigeria reported Muslim rioters had murdered 600-plus Christians and burned 12 Christian churches in one night. Pregnant women were "ripped open and their bodies burned."

In Jersey City and Newark, N.J., it wasn't Mennonites or Methodists who celebrated in the streets as 3,000-plus Americans (Muslims included) were murdered.

Every morning of every day we read and hear of atrocities committed by fanatical Muslims. Christians are commonly politicized as being hardcore and fanatical; but decapitation is not Christian theology.

Many Muslims in this country may be peaceful, but apart from the radical activities of groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations, I've not heard a cacophony of their voices. But we should. After all it wasn't Mormons standing on a bridge in Fallujah shouting Allahu Akbar (God is great) while the remains of innocent mutilated Americans burned.

"Peaceful religion isn't spelled I-s-l-a-m: Quran verses contradicting Muslim claims"

Although I haven't read it yet, I get the feeling that the book "Sedrets of The Koran"
is a good place to check out what the Koran really says.
I heard an interview with author Don Richardson a few weeks ago.
He's come to about the same conclusion I've gotten since 9-11: most Muslims are
blissfully ignorant of what the Koran says -- it's the Islamic terrorists who are the
true and obedient believers in what is written in the Koran.

OK. Here are some :

A Christian nation, rounding up Jews to beat them up, seize their property, and ultimately killing them in the biggest mass-murder ever - because of their religion. (Nazi Germany)

Catholics burning down villages, killing the men, burning down the houses, and forcing (with priests armed with guns and grenades) the women and children to convert. There also have been countless rapes and killings (Yugoslavia, 1941-1944)

Orthodox Christians killing Catholics, Jews and Muslims to the last man, woman and children, wherever they could find them. Once again, raping, looting and killing was commonplace(ex-Yugoslavia, 1992-1994)

My own ex-teacher of Serbo-Croatian, who became Director of the Serbian National News Agency, justifying with other Serbian officials the use of snipers against Bosnian children in the name of defending the Christian religion. (1994-1995)

Or would you prefer the bombing of the church of Montgomery, Alabama (IIRC) by white Christians ?

"Islam as a whole is a wonderful religion that stresses obedience to God's will, prayer, and compassion."

Sure it is -- go feed your "Islam is the religion of peace" bullsh!t to the victims of 9-11 and their survivors and see what sort of reaction you get.

As far as I am concerned, anyone in America who believes that "Islam as a whole is a wonderful religion that stresses obedience to God's will, prayer, and compassion" can move to a Muslim country today.

They will find out very quickly how "peaceful" their Islamic brothers and sisters are, particularly if they wish to practice any other religion!

"I'm glad to see that there are more of my fellow freeepers who see the cult for what it really is."

All of my friends and their families have finally acknowledged that it is islam that wants the annihilation of all infidels. People tend to avoid confrontation with something so terrible as islam. I cannot blame them for trying to avoid a nasty fight, but this fighter is now at the door trying to persuade us to come out to meet him. I assure you that I am more than willing and so are the vest majority of my family/friends. We are all working professionals and have lively-hoods that give us a comfortable lifestyle. Now we are willing to put that aside to defend ourselves from these murderous vermin. 9/11 woke up alot of us to what has been occurring around the world. I have tried to approach this with an open mind, but I have read the ko-rap and see what they want us to become. Well..these vermin are in for one helluva wake up call when we come round. For Pete's sake, we hunt nearly year round in my neck of the wood!
Take care,
BC

Well, I haven't my Bible readily at hand, but I prmoise you this : this evening I'll re-read the Leviticus, and also the New Testament. So tomorrow you'll either have my apologies or my arguments.

I've posted a few examples of massacres done by people who call themselves Christians against Jews, Muislims, or even fellow Christians. Are you going to say these never took place ?

The Nazis never were Christians. They sometimes used the cover of Christianity and other religions in their propaganda but they developed their own Pagan rituals for weddings, births and other important ceremonies. They also exterminated thousands of priests and millions of Christians in concentration camps.

The Nazis used any religion to further their power. For example, the Nazis raised two Muslim Waffen SS Division during the war. These were the only true "religious" SS Division the Nazis ever created (and it is safe to say that the Germany was not a Muslim nation). Himmler was fascinated by the thought of Muslims to be fearless soldiers willing to kill for their religion. One of these Muslim Waffen SS divisions (The Hanjer Division) was responsible for the murder of over 90 percent of the Yugoslavian Jewish population.

The KKK has never been a part of Christianity and is repudiated by every Catholic sect. Members of the KKK that commit violence are put in jail. Now compare that to the thousands of islamic terrorist groups that meet, recruit and fund raise in the local mosque.

Spot on, Mr. Cooper. And they've been allowed to get away with it far, far too long. If this bloody lunatic cult vanished from the face of the earth tomorrow, that wouldn't be too soon for me. Problem is, it certainly won't do so of its own accord, so it's going to need a little, ahem, "help". But I really don't believe there would be a big problem finding enough volunteers for the project. Go figure.

As a matter of fact, Christianity does teach I should put to death someone who's slept with a woman while she was impure, among other nasty things. I'll re-read the Leviticus book, but it's real keen on burning people alive, IIRC.

Yes please re-read Leviticus. I think you are mistaken about the impurity punishment. I believe the burning was reserved for those who practiced incest. There were laws in the Old Testament that were put in place for the maintenance of civil order and they do include what we would call capital punishment for various offenses. None of this changes the central theme of the Bible which is love and redemption of mankind.

What you say about the KKK (or even about the Nazis) is precisely what I'm trying to point out : the most heinous crimes are committed by people who disguise their earthly ambitions and personal prejudice behind religious or patriotic color.

The true message of religion is, in my own and humble opinion and as I see it, to give people and society a higher goal, and to reveal what's good within us. Christianity is not a religion of hatred, it is supposed to be a religion of love. Is it presently taught as such ? Yes, definitely. Was it always taught like that ? Sorry, but no.

I live in a city that, 400 years ago (not all that much when it comes to Christianity) the Protestants were sieging against loyalist Catholic troops. You go to La Rochelle, you'll see a city where Protestant and Catholics were quite physically at each other throats, and where killing children and burning churches were very commonplace. And it was a war between fellow Christians.

Is Islam taught as a religion of peace today ? No, certainly not, we have countless reports that indicate quite the contrary. Could it be taught as a religion of peace ? Yes it can - as it once was.

Absolutely - these things are not the central message, and Christianty is not about burning people alive because they committed incest or stoning unruly children to death to prove they should respect their father.

What I'm only trying to say here is that, if you take any Holy Book and quote it our of context, you'll have the recipe for any jihad, crusade, or Holocaust some tinpot dictator could dream about.

Christianity does not, and has never taught Old Testament (or Old Covenant) Levititical law...law always only meant for the ancient Hebrews. The Church has always acknowleged we are under the New Covenant.

Since Jesus by definition fulfilled the law, and the ancient theocracy of Israel is done, the ceremonial and civil laws of the Old Testament--from the very first disciples, and authors of the New Testament, until now--have been discarded. I know of know Christian groups on earth who have ever practiced Old Testament laws like you mention.

Yes, Christian groups have done terrible things--and some of those terrible things in the name of Christ too. However, all can be shown to be an abrogation and denial of the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles in the New Testament.

The point of the article is that acts of terrorism...in those 90% plus of terrorist groups TODAY (not 400 years ago) which are Moslem....are CONSISTANT with the man Mohammed, and the teachings of the Koran. It is only moderate interpreters--who are willing to bend the words of the Koran to modern Western opinion--who are truly civilized.

A fundamentalist Christian will try to tell you about Jesus...a fundamentalist Moslem is just as likely to plant a bomb to kill innocents--all the while chanting "God is great!"

I do apologize for making it so personal, but I really do think that unless we read theKoran we really can't fathom the mindset of this "religion."
