Steyn raises a sobering point....One recent example comes to mind: ~~~Mosques are winning the "right" to broadcast "Allah is great" across the fruited plains of America five times a day.

Our grandfathers fought to save Europe. Our fathers fought to save Europe. We were prepared to fight for Europe and helped guard it for decades. They repayed us by spitting on us.

No, it is not the Europeans who were rescued by the Americans who are spitting on us: it is their grandchildren, who have been taught utter socialism (which, by its nature, is virulently anti-American and anti-capitalistic freedom) since birth.

As for those who were actually rescued: I spent a year in France as an exchange student in the 1970s. My host family introduced me to a man who, during WWII, had lived in an occupied town which was freed by American soldiers. That man began to cry when he met me, because seeing an American brought back those memories. I felt awkward, since I really did not think I deserved his gratitude for events that happened before I was born.

Unknowable, since between now and then there will be a civil war in the "European Union." It may be used as an excuse to practice genocide against the Islamics, or they may use it as an excuse to seize power. Or, they may all just wipe each other out. We'll see.

The other day, Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad told Lisbon’s Publica magazine that a group of London Islamists are ‘ready to launch a big operation’ on British soil. ‘We don’t make a distinction between civilians and non-civilians, innocents and non-innocents,’ he said, clarifying the ground rules. ‘Only between Muslims and unbelievers. They don't even try to hide this fact. Why, oh, why do people still pretend we need to be sensitive in our approach?

You made a good point.I found rarely was my being a very obvious American a detriment anywhere in Europe, even France .Exceptions were Paris(of course) and the non English speaking screener at ATL.
