I was active duty from 82 to 90. During that time I could have been called on at any time (and several times felt it could happen pretty damn quick ) to defend Europe from the Reds. Same goes for all who served during the Cold War.
Thats not anyone's grand kids. Thats the ungrateful SOB's currrently wasting oxygen.
Besides, the grandparents had a responcibility to pass on some measure of gratitude to their decendents. (MY PARENTS were liberated by Patton, after spending the last year of the war trying to avoid "liberation" by the Soviets).It was over a CENTURY later that we repayed the French for their aid in the Revolution.
