Need Help From Freeper Females (vanity)
4/21/2004 | Jaysun

Some of the guys and I are presently at the camping lodge and we’ve got a problem that requires the help of a sensible woman. My brother-in-law managed to get something in his hair this morning, and he wanted to wash it out. I can’t tell you what that something was, because he’s refused to divulge that to us thus far (I suspect that he fabricated the “tainted hair” theory to save himself some embarrassment.)

My brother-in-law believes that his wife has, at some point, told him that peanut butter is a useful household hair cleaner / conditioner. His wife animately denied ever saying anything about peanut butter, and thinks that he must have confused it with mayonnaise. Anyway, this guy has gone from a docile gentlemen to a ranting idiot and he’s now in a state of full blown panic.

Please provide us with any suggestions that you may have for removing peanut butter from hair. If possible, we’d like to know of any “home remedies” that may work – we’re in a fairly remote location and nobody is willing to go to the store. Besides looking ridiculous, he smells horrible. Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

A) Tried to “melt” it away by pouring very hot water over his head. This basically resulted in mild burns to his neck and scalp.
B) Made a makeshift shower cap out of a Wal-Mart bag, taped it around his head to make it watertight, and poured beer in a small hole at the top. He let it soak for about an hour to no avail.

Anything that you can suggest would be most appreciated.

Jaysun

Jaysun, be nice. ; ) This is from one of our Freeper Hall of Fame threads. Lennox Lewis (UK) by KO in 8th Over Mike Tyson- Unified Boxing Title Bout

There were restrictions on posting images from the live event so our special contributor Hole_n_One helped make the night come alive for those freepers who did not have pay-per-view.

The guy who had this mishap might not be to thrilled to go down to a place with Orange in the name. Too many painful memories. :)

Good thinking. We wouldn't want to do anything to aggravate his new split personality disorder. Come to think of it, it might not have been such a great idea to invite everyone that we haven't seen in 5 years or more to an impromptu reunion at the lodge tonight. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

This thread was the next best thing to reliving my old boyscout days. Ahhh, the memories, coldest month I can remember, cabin by the frozen lake. Having my head forced under water and it freezing the hair, icicles shoved in my sleeping bag, rats that attack your food supply all night long. Ahhh.. Send my best to your brother-in-law. These are precious memories, whether he knows it or not

The good ole days. I'll add you to the list.

If the origional substance was known it would have been a snap. Cornstarch or cornmeal to absorb the excess grease. Mayo as an emulisfier will displace the oil of the peanut butter and then follow with shampoo.

As it turned out, there was no original substance. He initially lied about that in an effort to spare himself even more ridicule. He was trying to use the peanut butter as a substitute for his hair "goop." He was desperate because he wanted to hold his comb-over in place.

Try a dish detergent....Dawn or something like it. I'd put a large amount on the "peanut butter hair" and let it sit for a few minutes before washing it out. If it doesn't work, try it again.

Thanks, but he's been purified. Go to post 463 if you want to know the details.

Any oil will do the trick. No...I'm not a woman, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

As I understand it, you can only get the amazing powers associated with staying at a Holiday Inn if you also drink a V8 in your room. Thanks for the tip, but we've already cleaned him up. Post 463

I see. I didn't mean to be a prick, I thought that you were posting that as a joke (the joke being the quality of the art). He had a very creative and hilarious idea. I wish I had been in on that one.

This is the real deal. We took pictures as we were administering his "treatments" when it was practical to do so. I'll post them once we get them developed / scanned.

Based on the responses....dude, I think you may need to just shave his head.

Shaved heads are cool these days anyway. And it will grow back.

Glad you like it. The various post by other Freepers is what makes this so comical. I posted it with the honest goal of getting him some help. I figured that maybe a few women would find the time to give us some tips. We did get some good tips, and a lot of people seem to have gotten laughs along the way. I'm glad.

Origional substance was peanut butter.

I once had a teenager call me with application of surgiwax ( the stuff women use to wax their legs and bikini areas)
to his entire head of fairly long hair. He wanted the shaved look without shaving.

I was tempted to tell him something like twist it into a wick and light it but good judgement won out. If he was stupid enough to use the wax in the first place he just might follow a smart a$$ suggestion. Law suit flashed infront of my eyes.

I told him to use a hair dryer on warm to soften and then peel it in sections.

We might have tried that if we could have gotten him to hold still long enough. You ought to browse over some of the post - there's some very funny Freepers out there. When you're ready to know the outcome go to post 463
