FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK LAUNCHES WEB SITE ON "WINTER SOLDIER INVESTIGATION" AND KERRY SLANDER OF U.S. TROOPS IN VIETNAM
(Washington, DC) The Free Republic Network today announced the unveiling of www.WinterSoldier.com, a new web site to provide news, analysis and research material regarding the false claim by John Kerry and others during the Vietnam era that atrocities were routinely committed by America's military.
In 1971 former Navy Lt. John Kerry testified before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations about American "war crimes" in Southeast Asia, which he described as "not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command". Free Republic Network Director Scott Swett released the following statement:
"John Kerry played a key role in the leftist disinformation campaign that undermined support for the war by slandering a generation of American soldiers as mass murderers of civilians. Kerry testified before the Senate that the United States committed war crimes in Vietnam as a matter of military policy, citing claims of atrocities made at the discredited 'Winter Soldier Investigation' -- an event primarily funded by Jane Fonda."
"The truth is that atrocities were the exception in Vietnam, not the rule."
"Since Senator Kerry has made the strength of his military record a key issue in his pursuit of the Presidency, it is important for voters to have access to a more complete picture of his actions than is available from the Kerry campaign or the media. WinterSoldier.com will document and analyze the activities in which Kerry and others participated during the Vietnam era."
The site features a section on Kerry's hard-to-find 1971 book "The New Soldier" and covers the activities of the group Vietnam Veterans Against the War and its sponsors. New information will be added as it becomes available. Readers are invited to provide feedback, submit editorial pieces, and provide relevant material. The site will go live on Monday, February 23, 2004.
The Free Republic Network www.FreeRepublic.net is a 501(c)(4) public service corporation whose mission is to organize, train and support conservative activists nationwide. It provides information and organizational services to more than 50 regional and issue-based chapters around the country, and serves as the activism arm of the Free Republic Forum www.FreeRepublic.com.

George Bush honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, but didn't get any medals.
George Bush "We will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of the United States."
John Kerry served during the Vietnam War, won many medals, then threw some one else's medals back in his country's face.
John Kerry accused his fellow soldiers of rape, baby killing and torture, and his country of war crimes.
John Kerry Im an internationalist, Kerry told The Crimson in 1970. Id like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations.
America needs a leader with morals, honor, and vision. Not a leader who will ask for a UN permission slip to protect America.
Bush/Cheney in 2004.

Am I missing something? Are the stories I heard 25 to 30 years ago from neighbors, co workers and other Veterans who where there bogus? If your neighbors say they murdered civilian women and kids in Vietnam, I suggest you avoid hiring them to babysit.

Fellow freepers.....hit the link at the top of this page to get to the "Winter Soldier" site. Then hit the various subjects under "Topics". Your hair will stand on end when you acquaint yourself with the history of the peacenik wobbly-man who aspires to hold the same office as Washington, Lincoln, Reagan and Bush, for gosh sakes!
Then forward the link to this site to as many people on your email lists as possible. Let the chain reaction begin. Action is what we're here for!
Thanks to Scott (Interesting Times) and all those at FRee Republic Network whose research and posting of damning documentation has resulted in this perfectly presented expose.

The line between "civilian" and "enemy" in that war often blurred between women and children.
You guys are crossing a line with this "investigation" that is as equally despicable and vile as anything the "rats" would do.
I am ashamed for FR to be associated with this.

Thanks, Tonk and dio =
Even though I have my disageements with President Bush's policy stands, I respect his upstanding and forthright attitude in his positions. I spent six+ years in the Navy in the middle '60s -- Kerry is a liar, and I resent the fact that neither he nor Fonda and their ilk were ever charged with treason.

"why are there no stories of atrocities from them?"
Self preservation. Why would they want to jepordize their status here and integration into becoming Americans by accusing the very country that grants them asylum as being those who would commit "atrocities"...and they like everyone else who lived it wishes to forget the brutality.
As I said, the key work in this article is "regularly"...it didn't happen "regulary" but it did happen.

War is hell. Ask anyone that has been there. If your conscience equates political debate with war atrocities, then perhaps you are indeed among lesser people.
May I suggest that you leave it to the rest of us to act as "grunts" in this effort to defeat John Kerry. Kerry left his fellow soldiers in Vietnam to bleed and die, while he returned home in safety to call them butchers etc.
Perhaps your conscience is in the wrong home.
