Petition to Gov. Schwarzenegger to Arrest Mayor Newsom of San Francisco ^

To: Califonia Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco has violated California law by Marrying Same-sex couples in San Francisco. It is patently unlawful to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples. Section 308.5 of the California Family Code plainly defines a valid marriage as being limited to one man and one woman. Furthermore, California Penal Code section 115 prohibits the knowing procurement of any false or forged instrument to be filed or recorded in any public office, making such an act a felony punishable by up to three (3) years in prison.
The Mayor of San Francisco is giving the middle finger to the State of California and the United States as a Whole. To make it worse, Mayor Newsom and the City of San Francisco has stated that it is suing the state of California, challenging its ban on same-sex marriages on constitutional grounds. By doing so, Mayor Newsom is proposing that every law that was not a constitutional amendment is un-enforceable. If he is not arrested, there is no basis for drug laws, the carrying of concealed weapons, prostitution, and every other law that is not written into the constitution of the state of California.
Please arrest this man.

This will really attract businesses into coming to California.
Think of the government mandated benefits.
Think of the medical and hospitalization insurance costs.
An AIDS infected person goes thru $1,000,000 easily before dying and after infecting countless others.
It's your paycheck and lifestyle Californians.
This is killing any interest in keeping businesses in California.
California, New Mexico, Vermont, Illinois......
The homosexual states Barney Frank is afraid will ruin their ultimate agendas.
Several years back a SCOTUS Justice said when American citizens lose respect for the law that the laws would then be broken as if they did not ever exist.
Now the Judiciary and government is playing up to a 2%-3% homosexual deviate minority and throwing out established American laws in favor or European traditions and laws.
I see no reason to pay any attention to any laws as they are all obviously "unfair" to someone somewhere.
I think I will start with income taxes; federal, state, and city.
Then sales taxes, payroll deductions, filing any government forms, building permits, etc.
Hey; this may be a great anarchist "fairness" concept!
Let the left pay all the taxes and fees and insurance.........
I just heard anti-homo marriage protestors are being arrested by San Franscisco police on orders Mayor Newsome.
Sounds like mega civil lawsuits will be coming..........

Answer me this: fundamentally, why are you and a certain segment of society, as reflected on this site, so threatened by gays? You continually frame it in tremedously idealistic language, but on a FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL, why does homosexuality bother you so much? I personally could not care less if a guy wants to have sex with another guy...not my thing, but as long as they aren't hurting anyone else, shouldnt people be free to live the way they want to? And are they invalidated as people and as human beings because of SEX???
Why does it bother you so much?

What homohubris to declare "MY perversion is normal and worthy of marriage, but YOUR perversion is NOT!" bump!

but polygamy? Never!! How horrid--old geezer patriarchs like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and Solomon practiced polygamy, we can't have that kind of immoral behavior going on in today's enlightened society. /sarcasm Actually, that was a cultural corruption which was NOT of God but that doesn't seem to stop some conservatives here. Please don't cite the Bible to condone polygamy. It was not and is not part of the Divine plan.

NOT a good idea.
Leftists love to get arrested for "the cause."
It allows them to think they're heroic, and to compare themselves to people who got arrested in genuinely just causes, such as those who sat down at whites-only lunch counters in the '60s.
WE know there's no valid relationship between the civil rights movement of the sixties -- which was directed against racial discrimination -- and the attempts by radical homosexuals to force their sick 'lifestyle' down our throats.
But the LEFT is still trying to equate the two, as one noble cause against 'discrimination.' Arresting Newsom would only feed into the image they're trying to create.

In answer to your question...read John Adam's quote again. I believe he and the other founders understood this very well as they set in motion and molded what we benefit from today. The problem is, fewer and fewer people have any comprenhnsion about what their liberties rest upon.
Despite that, what Adams referred to is a fundamental truth that I subscribe to and agree with, and upon which hangs the future of our nation, our liberties, our society and civilization as we have known it. The course down the path away from it would destroy the very underlying fabric of those things I just enumerated...and their loss would certainly bother me.
I also understand that compulsion in such matters will not work except as codified into law through the duly appointed methods described in the constitution of this nation and those of the several states, and as supported by the free will choice of the people, remembering that the law itself must set solidly on those foundational principles. The events in San Francisco, IMHO, represent the antithesis to all of that.

Some say they don't want to make a martyr of Newsom, which would make him the hero to millions. If you nip him in the bud he won't get anywhere close to being a hero. He is becoming one now, bigger and stronger everyday.
California Freepers, should citizen-arrest him. If that Rino Governor won't the people must.

Right on Travis McGee. There are a lot more conservative mayors than liberal ones. They need to get on this bandwagon and start issuing weapons permits, among other things. What about decrees ordering police to arrest illegal immigrants, closing down abortion clinics. If they want to take it to the streets, BRING IT ON.

You never answered the question: why is it wrong...why does it bother you so much? WHO CARES what two consenting adults do in the bedroom? I didnt see anything in the quote from Adams regarding this issue.

Thanks AuntB. Lots of water under the bridge since the
Klamath and
Jarbidge days.

Mankind - has rather strong arguments as to the constitutionality of the denial of marriages based on sex and consequently sexual orientation. All World Religions also have rather strong arguments as to the constitutionality of the denial of marriages based on sex and consequently sexual orientation. In the end, it will NOT take a constitutional amendment to ensure that homos cant get married. It is just common sense and decency that will slap homos back into the closet.

" WHO CARES what two consenting adults do in the bedroom? "
I could care less. I do however, care when some bureaucrat decides to MAKE law! Let's just all jump in there and disregard every law that displeases us...I can think of a BUNCH of them. That doesn't mean I support anarchy. And this action in SF is ANARCHY. It's time the militant gays "accept" the acceptance we have all afforded them and stop trying to be treated like a bunch of whining babies.
Do you think every little special interest group has the right to disregard laws voted in by a majority in a state? Evidently you do.
