In answer to your question...read John Adam's quote again. I believe he and the other founders understood this very well as they set in motion and molded what we benefit from today. The problem is, fewer and fewer people have any comprenhnsion about what their liberties rest upon.

Despite that, what Adams referred to is a fundamental truth that I subscribe to and agree with, and upon which hangs the future of our nation, our liberties, our society and civilization as we have known it. The course down the path away from it would destroy the very underlying fabric of those things I just enumerated...and their loss would certainly bother me.

I also understand that compulsion in such matters will not work except as codified into law through the duly appointed methods described in the constitution of this nation and those of the several states, and as supported by the free will choice of the people, remembering that the law itself must set solidly on those foundational principles. The events in San Francisco, IMHO, represent the antithesis to all of that.

You never answered the question: why is it wrong...why does it bother you so much? WHO CARES what two consenting adults do in the bedroom? I didnt see anything in the quote from Adams regarding this issue.
