TUCSON -- Democratic presidential front-runner John F. Kerry, who has turned his decorated Vietnam War service into a theme of his campaign, said yesterday that President Bush and the US military should settle questions -- raised recently by Kerry allies -- about whether Bush completed his military service requirement in the Texas Air National Guard in the 1970s.

Mr. Kerry, WHOSE medals did you throw over the fence at the White House?
Mr. Kerry, WHY did you believe Daniel "Thug" Ortega, the COMMUNIST dictator, to be someone YOU should admire?

Jeez, not this sh!t again...
To: areafiftyone
By all means.
And then Kerry can explain the civilians and ARVNs his Swiftboat slaughtered as he tooled around indiscriminately firing.

This would be idiotic for him to pursue. Let's hope he does.

I am glad Kerry is sticking his foot in this mouth...this will BRING out the questions about his war protesting.

What is it about Kerry that he has to compete with Bush so much. First it annoyed him that Bush said "Bring it On" and then Kerry started saying it all the time. Then when Bush was on the aircraft carrier it annoyed Kerry BIG TIME. So Kerry had to make his announcement that he was running for president on an aircraft carrier. When Bush wore a bomber jacket - Kerry Now wears one. Kerry is jealous of Bush so much is shows. Kerry does not have a personality - first he borrowed JFK's and that didn't work - now he is borrowing Bush's personality. He's just as dull as Al Gore.

I really can't believe Kerry is following this tactic. As a lawyer would argue, Kerry is only opening the door to question his own service...both during and after Vietnam.

Funny how the media and Democrats thought Clinton's non-military record was of no consequence but now, with Bush, it's a big issue. If I'm not mistaken this charge was thoroughly investigated prior to the election in 2000 and found to be without merit

"Bush's military isn't an issue. I don't know what happened. I think he has to answer all sorts of questions about it. But it isn't an issue."
Yeah, right.
To: areafiftyone
How about just mailing him a copy of the Honorable Discharge certificate that he received. If Kerry doesn't like this ask him how he would change the military discharge policies to satisfy him and his ilk! I garuntee the answers would be disgusting and would turn all Vets against him.

Go ahead and laugh and tell yourself Kerry has no good issues. He is creating issues, and he is attempting to put Bush on the defensive. And there are already some indications that republican leaders are afraid to challenge Kerry on the issues of his anti-defense/ post vietnam record. The republicans need to shove it down kerry's throat. Mock him for throwing other people's medals away, and especially attack him for calling American troops war criminals.
But the dems got their first taste of the republicans' fears. The failure to call for MCauliffe's resignation or demand Kerry to repudiate his remarks was deafening. He called a war time president a deserter and they said nothing. IF this keeps up the dems will eat the repubs' lunch all the way to the White House.

I agree. They're running out of issues to attack the President with so their dragging out the old issues from the dust heap. Of course you need to remember, a democrat is always above reproach but a republican is always subjected to critisism and intense examination.

I agree. The republican need to find a back bone or something else. We're too timid and too nice. Time to pull out the big guns and use them as needed. I'm afraid that we may end up with a President Kerry if we don't get going now.
