Since its inception, Free Republic has been the world's premeire online gathering place for the discussion of the news, issues, opinions, and just about everything else.

There have been several times when the members of Free Republic have posted important breaking news stories first, scooping the outlets of the mainstream media.

Some exemplary threads merit mention in what I'd like to call the Free Republic Hall of Fame Threads.

I believe this is a good way to remember and share some of the most important discussions that have occured on Free Republic.

LOL, this story is so preposterous it is hard to believe anyone would believe it. Seriously, Bin Laden is going to blow up Bush with little model planes? Have you thought this through? Oh yeah, the "All Your Base" thread lives on fondly with me and my non-freep coworker. I remember a couple of oldies, but the links were made before a site upgrade and no longer work. Who remembers the jurassic threads, "OWK's Opus" and "Am I Being Banned" by A+Bert?

I'm a fairly new FReeper, have no idea what the "Hobbit Hole" threads are all about. I kind of feel like I'm back in Jr.High, before I filled out, when none of the boys asked me to dance....

I've been here over three years now and I still don't know what those Hobbit Hole threads are about. Or any of those other Chat forum clique threads, to be honest. Or the Freepers Finest threads that for some reason are in News instead of Chat.

Flo, I used to travel North adn South each year, and I copied my bookmarks onto a 3&1/2 floppy for transfer back and forth.

Came in handy when I 'Crispy-Crittered' my 'puter during a storm - I mean smoke comin' out of it!

Now if I can just find those discs, I'll add the 'USSS Knockin' on Gonzo's Door' thread...........FRegards
