There wouldn't be anything left ...Exactly.
The entire content would be the opening credits and "The End."

One article I read said that CBS
insider bigs LOVED "The Reagans"
before the truth hit the public.
Unbelievable!

The negative publicity on putting a product name around this thing will be long lasting. Bill Gates is the only one who could afford to sponsor it without worrying about losing clients and he's not that crazy. Bill Gates probably doesn't care much for clinton. It was the clinton Justice Dept that tried to break up Microsoft.

"Oh, and so they refuse to re-edit it???"
Artistic integrity and all, I'm sure.
What I'd like to see is a documentary on the Clintons. A real nice, juicy one (er, scratch that last adjective)...
Imagine a 'doc-u-drama' where we go with youthful Bill on his 'sightseeing' trip to the Soviet Union and the communist bloc nations at the height of the cold war. The early years of Miss Hillary could get a look-see to with a detour to see her relationships with the likes of peace-loving communists like Saul Allinsky. Then, we could all load up the truck and go to Arkansas, where we'd spend a little and meet lovable knuckleheads like Hubble, Tyson and Foster. During a ratings sweep, maybe they could show the episode exploring Hillary's lesbian relationships and a tally of Bill's relationships over the years chock full of youthfull photos of smilin' gals in bikinis and all. The concluding episodes, of course, we've already previewed and panned here on FR, but the folks back home might get a kick out of the whole gang being recreated.
I suspect the Clinton's fee's might be a little excessive to reprise their greatest roles, but then, they do have a penchant for wanting to relive their hijinks over and over. Besides, they're always interested in just a little more 'face' time.

"Maybe PBS will pay $9M tax dollars to show it??"
I'd favor that expenditure of public monies. It is consistent with their mission and propaganda. Likewise, this kind of dreck airing on PBS would only strengthen my mission as well...
TOTAL PUBLIC DEFUNDING OF CPB, PBS & NPR.

"And .. how many people who have Showtime will threaten to cancel if they plan to show the movie."Great idea!. Unlike CBS, we pay for Showtime since we are both the audience and the sponsor in theeir case. They are extremely vulnerable.

The thing that's really great is that it wasn't "just us". It was as if all conservatives finally got up off their haunches and said "enough" to See-BS. That doesn't mean we didn't lead the way, though. ; )

Before everybody starts shrieking at Showtime about a movie they haven't seen yet, I'll point out that Showtime just recently aired a movie on 9-11 from the eyes of the decisionmakers that was very positive toward this administration.

I agree squantos. CBS says they delight in the controversy. to me it means they will air regardless of boycott's or anything else.
hollywood churns out garbage that people wont pay to see ,they lose lot's of money but yet they keep on turning out terrible movies .why is that ?
does hollywood have money to burn that they do not need to listen to the public on what kind of movies we would like to see?
or is the hollywood crowd that determined to shove thier ideas and thier views on all of us?

Barbra Streisand, is a Democratic Party shill who is "tight" with the telemovie's producers and spent months on set.
Babs was purely an objective observer, no doubt.
Too, we know how historically accurate Viacom insists on being. Remember, those wheren't boos on that VH-1 tape, they were woos.

I don't think it is censorship to demand truth from creativity that has falsity amd malice at its base. I mean sure, you can't censor everything that people aren't gonna want to hear...but usually what they don't like hearing is the truth! Hatchet pieces usually invite a law-suit or two!

NEWSWEEK: I had some Republican call me yesterday, says Jeff Wald, Brolins manager. He said, You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. He has Alzheimers and cant defend himself. Could Jackie Kennedy defend herself when they did the movie on her? I believe that "some Republican" was Merv Griffin, who was justifiably outraged at CBS's portrayal since he knew the Reagans personally.
I also find it hard to believe that there was "some Democrat" who would have complained that a network had done a hatchet job on Jackie. It would never have happened.

How the heck can CBS edit, or re-edit, or re-re-edit? James Brolin's masque-like Reagan face is seen throughout the movie. Cartoonish, eerie and unsettling.
"The Masque of the Red (commie) Death"
(thank you, Mr. Poe!).

You're right. You can't fix a hit piece and still have a coherent movie. It's kind of like trying to make a Lassie movie and editing out the dog.
