Sarah Palin reared her head in American airspace this weekend.
As the country’s media, entertainment and political elite gathered in Washington, D.C., for the annual roast that is the White House Correspondents Dinner, Palin could not resist lobbing darts from afar.
“Yuk it up media and pols,” she tweeted. “While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.”
She panned the event again in a second tweet: “That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns thrown themselves a #nerdprom.”
Palin can take any position she wants on the wisdom of “media and pols” yukking it up on their night off. (I thought the president was pretty funny, especially his joke about not being “the strapping young Muslim socialist that I used to be.” Palin, who once charmed the country with her joke about hockey moms and pitbulls, now seems oblivious to the power of the self-deprecating joke.)
Still, she is not the only critic of the annual event; plenty of people think the evening is proof that Washington’s watchdogs are too cozy with its power players. (And maybe it’s only of minor interest that her own daughter, Bristol, was a dinner guest in 2011, when the economy was in far worse shape than it is now.)
But when it comes to evaluating the work habits of others, Palin has forfeited the moral high ground....

The last couple of Presidential campaigns demonstrated that the Republican candidates are fully capable of ignoring the power of voter registration drives to ferret out new Republican voters.

She’s not relevant. That’s why they published an entire article in response to her tweet.
What a bunch of slimy crooks. Did they get any kind of penalty, or just have their hands slapped?
But the instituion as a whole was damaged. Still, the fact every bill collector on the planet knew the LA Times crowd were crooks probably helped the company make it through the Great Obama Recession (so far).
The Tribune Inc crowd wasn't as lucky. They did the same thing; got a well deserved reputation as thieves, and then some of their flagship operations went bankrupt.
The misrepresentation of ABC/BPA data was fairly widespread but I don't recall Conrad Black having gotten caught up in it. He was probably on his way to jail anyway ~

I didn’t hear Palin’s comment mentioned on talk radio today, but I might have missed it. Is this too vulgar for talk radio? I figured Rush would go nuts with this.
The way I’ve come to see it the MSM has but one role...how to convince Americans to support what is typically not in our interest. The media needs to face more dirty vulgar talk.
It was just another excuse to drag out the old tired ‘she quit’, and ‘she’s cashing in’, garbage.
One day before the ***clown tweet, Palin tweeted about Planned Parenthood, Obama, and Kermit Gossnell all in it together. But the media did not touch that tweet. No, the media has to focus on the White House Press Diner tweet. Shows you what the agenda, the Obama-mania media has.
Memo to this LA Slimes writer: There was no movement to draft Palin. She was virtually unknown nationally at the time and was chosen as the GOP VP candidate by McCain and his campaign team only (one of the relatively few things they did well, I might add).

Um no. She didn't say one of George Carlin's "Seven words you can never say on television". She called the media 'assclowns', which is a pretty good description, I'd say, and it's a word I've heard on the radio and tv.
At least 10 people within the government risked 20 years in prison to give Glenn Beck and 10 members of Congress proof that the Saudi tackled at the finish line of the Boston Marathon was classified as a “known terrorist” until somebody singlehandedly removed that label, after which time Michelle Obama visited him in the hospital and he has been deported supposedly for “national security” reasons.
Beck said he knew who that guy is, warned Obama that he needs to come clean on who this is. He has been identified by a qualified expert here on FR as Hamza, the son of Osama Bin Laden.
Beck sent his information to the media. Chances are good that the people yukking it up with Obama and laughing at his “strapping socialist Muslim” joke know darn good and well that he had the ability to prove Osama Bin Laden’s son as the planner of the Boston Marathon bombing - and chose instead to visit Bin Laden’s son in the hospital and yuk it up with that terrorist who has sworn to avenge his father’s death by killing Americans, and whisk him off to safety before anybody could capture him and charge him.
That is treason. Giving aid and comfort to America’s sworn enemy. And the media who laughed at his “joke” knows it is not a joke; it is the bloody reality for a dead 8-year-old boy who was waiting for his dad to finish the race, as well as a bunch of others who lost their life or limbs.
Why didn’t he just go whole hog and make dead-8-year-old jokes while he was at it. I’m sure the evil people in that room with him would have had a rocking good time laughing at that, given the timeliness of the subject matter...
Words cannot express how sick these people are, and how nauseating it is to even hear their hissing tongues laughing at the innocent people that Barack Obama has helped to kill.
There is video footage of civilians after the liberation of Auschwitz and Buchenwald going to the concentration camps, happy and glib. They came out of there weeping. The SOB’s like at the LATimes have looked at the dead bodies left in Obama’s wake, by his terrorist friends...... and they left, laughing.

Vulgar (from the Latin vulgus: the common people) means In ordinary use. Vernacular speech. A person not regarded as belonging to good society.
