In front of a wildly supportive crowd of Tea Party members at a rally in Indianola, Iowa, Sarah Palin said that the U.S. is now at a tipping point.
While didnt explicitly announce her candidacy for the 2012 Presidential race, observers at the Des Moines Register who covered the event said Palins comments sounded like a campaign speech.
Iowa you are good people, Palin said. Were here because America is at a tipping point. America faces a crisis, and its not a crisis like perhaps a Midwest summer storm that moves in and hits hard, but then moves on.
When the crowd interrupted her 40-minute speech with wild cheers, Palin said: Folks, you know its not enough to just change up the uniform if we dont change the game plan.
Palin covered a broad array of her topics during her speech in front of a rain-soaked crowd of some 2,000.
Our country cant afford more trillion dollar thank you notes to campaign backers, she said. Like you, Im not for sale.
Warning that its time restore a country that we love, she said the people need to restore all that is free and good and right about America.
Here are some other quotes from Palins speech as quoted by a Register series of tweets.
*Real hope is in you. Its not that hopey, changey stuff that we heard about back in 2008.
*Instead of chasing industry off-shore, I propose to eliminate all federal corporate income tax.
*Many big corporations, they skirt federal taxes because they have friends in DC who write the rules for the rest of us.
*Americas economic revival starts with Americas energy revival.
*We need to move on tapping our own God-given natural resources that are part of our reserves.
*The real stimulus that were waiting for is robust and responsible domestic energy production.
*Lets enforce the 10th amendment. Devolve powers back locally.
*My plan is a bona fide, pro working-mans plan.
*The real challenge is not whether we will replace Obama in 2012 but who we will replace him with.
*I believe in the free market which is why I detest crony capitalism. ... Obama has shown us crony capitalism on steroids.
*I dont play that game of hiring expert political advisers just so theyll say something nice about me on TV.
*You want to know why the permanent political class never really cuts anything? Its because theres nothing in it for them.
*Polls? Usually I say polls are for strippers and cross-country skiers.
*We are governed by a permanent political class, until we change that.
*President Obama, is this what you call winning the future? I call it losing our country.
*We love our country in good times and in bad and we never apologize for America.
Talk is very cheap.
*Polls? Usually I say polls are for strippers and cross-country skiers.
Ooops...watch if the press comments that a stripper pole is spelled differently than a “poll”. I’ll bet they do.
She completely owns the Tea Party with this speech, and anyone claiming otherwise is full of it- or copying her 'plan'.
Your post proves that, Noob.
Thanks for the ping!
As soon as she said it, I told my husband, I bet the media can’t wait to tell us how dumb she is over that. lol. I loved the comment though.
She's not running.
She's sauntering.
It must suck to be the other candidates and just *know* you're being toyed with. It must be how the mouse feels while waiting for the cat to stop playing and inflict the killing strike.
Cheers!
She gave us her campaign sign.
NOT FOR SALE!
PALIN 2012
Yes it is. And that is all you will ever get from Perry. Run Sarah Run!
Why bother to float the line The real challenge is not whether we will replace Obama in 2012, but who we will replace him with.
While she absolutely did not say "I am running for President in 2012," she did make it absolutely clear that she intends to.
IMEO ("In my expert opinion"--I'm an expert at espressing my opinon) LOL
8^)
It was a play on words, was clearly intentional and worked only in a spoken context, so I don’t think the media can say much of anything.
I’m not a big Palin supporter because I have never thought she was really committed to running and I’m still not sure she is. If she had stayed as governor of Alaska, I’d feel more confident, but she seems to take up things and then drop them.
However, she has some great ideas, and what she needs to do is to prove that she’s really committed to promoting them and that she can work within the GOP and not set up a 3rd party.
It sounds exactly the same..and who cares what the media says..the media hates this woman yet they follow her around like crazy..tells me everything I need to know..the media knows that she is the one that can beat that phony baloney fool in the White House
Frankly I would love to see her announce this week, and have a real debate between her and Perry starting on Wednesday and continuing in the months to come. I think we would all be served by a clear idea of where they both stand on the issue so the party can rally around one or the other. The longer she waits, the more the conservative wing would be divided between the two of them with Bachmann taking a small percentage. That only benefits Romney. And I really don't want to have to vote for him in 2012.
I love that. :)
"And I can tell you from hard-earned experience with bumps and bruises along the way that the road ahead is not easy. You will be demonized. They'll mock you. They'll make things up. They'll tell you to go to Hell. But we'll bite our tongue we'll keep it classy and we won't respond as tempting as it is to anyone who has such disdain for our free-market economy and for individual initiative and responsibility; we won't say, 'No, you go to Hell.' No we won't say that. We won't say that. You know why we don't have to say that? Because when we have time-tested truth and logic on our side, we WIN. And, when we refuse to retreat because we know that our childrens' future is at state, we WIN."
This is the key. She's in it. The Mama Grizzly defending her children.
Game ON!!!
Cheers!
yep
