George Clooney... you think the Dixie Chicks are bad?

From George Looney
"It's the head guys who really tick me off. You dumb down at the top, so what does that do to the bottom? Who's going to stand up for us now? I just want someone smart to stand up and shout, 'Bullshit!' They tell us we're going to war and no one's saying 'Bullshit' loud enough. And the language! Listen to the language! 'Evil.' 'Evil'? 'Nexus of evil'? 'Evil-doer'? That's my favourite, 'evil-doer'! What's wrong with their vocabulary: couldn't they come up with 'schmuck'?"
"What did Bush do on 9/11? He ran away and hid. Even Reagan knew more about leadership than that, and he was as bad a symbol of America as I can think of, off-hand. But at least he's been in enough cowboy movies to know he had to come out and stand on top of the rubble and be seen shaking his fist or something."

Clooney makes a living pretending he's somebody he isn't and people believe that he is that person. Now he is pretending to be important, and that his opinion matters... he's an actor pretending to be something he isn't.
Now if only HE knew that!

"What a moron he is! If Al Gore had been President on 911 the very same steps would have been taken with him." I think LIR is referring to the actions taken on 9/11. They would have followed procedure for any President
(Thanking God it wasn't algore)

"GWB ran away and hid?"
Oh, crap. I sure remember Dan Rather initially reporting something like that. He speculated on the reasons Bush might not have headed straight back to Washington when he learned of the attacks. I don't recall exactly what he said, but it was dripping with his suspicion of the President's motives and an insinuation of cowardice. Gee, Dan and cLOONEY, maybe someone felt it was important to protect the life of our President in a time of national crisis. I guess it didn't occur to this pair of dungwads that things would have been even more chaotic (duh) if Bush had been harmed. Not that they would have minded. "No matter how you feel about him, he's still the President." Thanks for the tip, Dan.

Hmph....a thread with the Dixie Chicks in the title, and no one has whined about it being in News/Activism yet. Old folks must've went to bed.
Seriously, what is the last entertaining (or original) thing that Clooney did? Ocean's Eleven and Solaris were remakes while Oh Brother and Confessions of a Moronic Mind tanked. I've seen none of them, so I can't say if they were any good - but there's a lot more stuff I'd rather watch.

Salami. Baloney. Clooney.

George Cloony now admits that EVERYONE in the Saddam-loving crowd is an idiot because he wants
"someone smart to stand up and say BUKK $HIT." Which implies that the leftist idiots - including himself - who HAVE stood up and said bull $hit are just that : idiots. We of the mainstream agree, and thank Mr. Cloony for his honesty about the intellectual acumen of the average "anti-war protestor."
As for Cloony's comments about the president running and hiding on 9/11, Mr Cloony proves he knows nothing about disaster protocol, originally developed to permet government to run in the event of a nuclear holocaust.
Cloony once went ballistic on a Turkish reporter who thought his movie Solaris was boring. IIRC, Georgie sputtered something to the effect of "you've never been an actor, so you're in no position to criticise my movies." 'Course, George was far less elequent than my paraphrase.
WHY does George not know about nuclear protocol? Why does he not know the function of Air Force One? Most of us learned that in high school civics or POD. In short, just how many years experience does George have as head of state that he critizes the perfectly correct - and expected by those of us who know how our government works - actions of the president of the United States when the United States was under attack?

No kidding. /sarcasm on/ I'm always comforted by the fact that Dan Blather knows more about what's going on with the internal workings of the goverment than does the President./sarcasm off/
Additionally, I was warmed to see Danno standing on the heaps of smoldering steel and addressing those firemen so aggressivaly "I can hear YOU!" Gosh, it was great to see him there.

Does George Clooney have a High School Diploma, or are we talkin' G.E.D. here?I understand your anger, but please do not insult the intelligent people, myself included, who have GEDs and then educated ourselves further. It sounds too much like the leftist elitists mocking "Trailer trash!" The mere fact that a person has a GED already implies that they cared enough to improve themselves. Many people cannot finish high school for health or family reasons, not just because they're idiots.

Ain't nothing wrong with having a GED. My brother got one, went in the Army and has been a Brass Hat at Dell Computers for 15 years.
Me,I have an MBA and am collecting unemployment insurance. Go figure.

Clooney probably thinks Reagan was a coward for ducking when that psycho was shooting at him, too.

...and I should care what ticks this a$$ hole off because...
damn what was I talking about?
To: Childseyes
Personally, I'm _GLAD_ Bush wasn't visible for the first 6-8 hours after the attacks.
Hid? Damn right.
What did this wank want? "George W. Bush standing on the lawn outside the Whitehouse right now is..."
Sheesh. I used to like Clooney. I've modified my opinion.
"The US can't win wars" WRONG"
"Bush hid" Wrong
"The War is wrong" Wrong
Douchebag.

I just want someone smart to stand up and shout, 'Bullshit!' Well, George Cloonie, I am sure ted Koppel would be happy to do that for you.
To: Childseyes
You know, I knew Clooney was a liberal and I knew he was a stupid and ill informed liberal. However, this article really drives home the point that this man is a complete imbecile. Too bad, too, because I liked some of his movies.
Like the Dixie Chicks, I guess I'll refrain from sending any of my hard earned coin his way. The culture war, at least in our house, has spread to doing about these creeps by refusing them economic support.
