Any way I could get a stiff scotch today? I just picked up Baby Girl's remains from the kennel. (sigh)

So sorry! It's never ever easy.

True, but she would have been 20 this January, so I must have been doing something right. Shoulda sent the Baby Girl to college, then she would have mooched of me for another for years. (sigh)

I'm taking any information of breeds under advisement for my next adoption if anyone can suggest some good ones. No Jack Russel Terriers... I'm not up for that sort of stress unlike other people I know. :-)

How big, how active, and how smart are you looking for.

We went to a breeder and adopted a Siberian Husky pup when our 5 year old Australian Shepherd was hardly eating after our Chow passed away, refused to play, and took her tennis balls to where he was buried and just sat there. Our cat kept going to where he used to sleep, and looking all over the house for him. When we brought our female Husky pup home, our Aussie perked up, loved having her fur pulled and chewed, and they are the best of friends. The cat loves chasing the dogs down the hall. Given the choice, we would not have gotten another dog, but the emotional state of our other companions was of primary importance. Our Husky is a treasured member of the family. Every home needs animal companions-go find the perfect one to complicate and share your life.

Small to medium, medium.... and dumb as a rock is fine with me. :-)

LOL, I don't know what I would do with a smart dog, I've never had one. They've all been cocker spaniels and inbred heinz 57s... but they all gave good warm fuzzies!

I wish I could have brought in a second dog, but the muttly girl was so old by the time I thought of it, she would have seriously objected. Besides, in her mind, she wasn't a dog, she was human with extra legs... or was I the one with two few legs.... lol

I figure that if they are resonably medium sized (30 pounds or so), I will get two. That way they can terrorize each other while I am gone.

They have always disliked us-the first time I met his wife, she called me a bitch, and said she hated the house we were building. I'm glad they're leaving, and I can always use the business their greed brought me.

A dachsund is good. A miniature border collie. Maybe a beagle.

Get a Lab. They don't last anywhere near 20 years, though. Excuse me, there's a hockey game with my name on it...

Labs are too big, Argh. They'll go 60 to 80 pounds.
