In a cynical effort to look busy and fool their imbecilic base into thinking they are working for them, the Democrat/communist/Muslim coalition running California out of existence has surpassed itself for producing busy work.

California is putting teenagers as old as 15 through a state-mandated seat-belt fit test—and those who fail it will have to remain in a child restraint such as a booster seat. The new rule takes effect January 1, 2027. It applies to children ages 8 through 15, meaning it reaches right up to a teenager’s 16th birthday. The law stops short of ordering every 15-year-old into a booster. Teenagers who pass all five steps may use an adult belt, while those who miss even one step will need a child restraint. The story exploded across social media Saturday as Californians compared Sacramento’s latest mandate with the state’s much larger public crises.

My parents didn’t have cars with seatbelts until I was 10. Stood in a crib in the back of the Corvair until I was 3. I can’t imagine trying to get a teen into a booster seat.

What Is the 5-Step Seat Belt Fit Test?

Here’s how the test works. A child must:

Sit with their back flat against the seat.
Bend their knees naturally at the seat’s edge.
Have the lap belt rest low across their hips, not the stomach.
Have the shoulder belt lie across the chest and shoulder, not the neck or face.
Be able to stay seated properly for the entire ride without slouching or moving out of position.

If a child fails to meet even one of these requirements, using a regular seat belt becomes unsafe.

How would you enforce such a law?

Must preteen minors now carry ID cards proving they passed the seat belt test?

The concept seems odd. Kids can modify their gender/bodies with surgery and hormones and counselors will help them with that, but they can't be trusted to ride safeky in the back seat?
