A backlash has forced the disgraced, far-left BBC to remove an article that declared “bare nails” racist.
That’s “bare nails,” as in fingernails, as in women choosing to not have their fingernails colored with nail polish.
That’s now considered racist, y’all.
Why?
Because when the market for racism is as starved as it is for actual racism, the market is filled with crap like this… “Nail art’s historical and creative roots are linked back to black, Latino, and Asian communities and the suggestion that bare nails are now a sign of high status could stigmatise bold manicures,” wrote the BCC.
“That trend really promotes blankness and this kind of sameness and erasure of culture and identity that is so important to black and brown communities, some “beauty journalist” told the dumbasses at the BBC, who decided that blather was worth reprinting.
This was not some silly blog-style article at the BBC. No, sir. This was a big deal. Two so-called reporters, Tiffanie Turnbull and Simran Sohal, devoted about 1400 words and multiple interviews to this retardery. If it weren’t such a ridiculous subject, you would call that amount of time and effort put into this “deeply researched and reported.”
Yes, this article just goes on and on and on, desperate to use a pile of “reporting” to gloss over what it really is — a pile of First World nonsense: “The examples are almost always white women or celebrities… [and] they’ll often conflate class and taste with that bareness.”
For some reason, probably because they are awful people, some people just need racism to exist, and because there is so little real racism, they invent it. That’s all this is — the BBC inventing racism.

I guess I’m racist. My nails had to be kept very short as an NICU nurse. If people had any idea what lurks beneath those manicured nails, they’d run screaming the other direction.

I know a young lady that is dumb as a box of rocks.
But this race issue allows her to feel important, be heard, lecture other people as if she has a PhD.
I suspect the same is true for many others beating this drum.
It’s a theme that allows the low life dummies to have a voice or be heard and everyone knows they need to stay quiet, nod their head, and pretend something profound is coming out of that stupid mouth.
In the past, at least, short and unpolished nails were the sign of a woman who worked with her hands, as my mother and grandmother did. I have always wondered how any woman with long, fancy nails ever does anything like work, or even basic hygiene. When I was in college, I worked in a jewelry store. One of the salesladies sold several watches and asked me to set the time and date on them because her long nails made it hard for her to do that. I guess she didn’t want to ruin her manicure either.
There’s a reason that Donut Operator calls them, “poop nails.”
I don’t keep my nails very long - a millimeter or two, and I don’t typically paint them. Normally that’s reserved for special occasions. I work at a pharmacy and do a lot of typing, which is impossible to do rapidly (I clock at about 100wpm without a backspace key; 220 if allowed to use it) with really long nails.
And sometimes you CAN’T paint them. If you wind up with a fungal infection or a wart beneath the nail (happened to a friend of mine - 9 years of treatment and it turned into an auto-immune thing), you can’t paint them. They have to breathe and be topically treated every day.
I think this article is discriminatory against people with fingernail deformities.
