Two-thirds of Americans believe the war in Iran has not been worth fighting.
A new AP-NORC poll found that roughly two-thirds of U.S. adults say the war that began Feb. 28 is not worthwhile. The sentiment is shared by the vast majority of Democrats (87%) and independents (68%), as well as 37% of Republicans.
The AP-NORC poll, conducted July 23-27, surveyed 1,165 adults and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

To be fair, age has everything to do with it when someone is responding to incessant rants about "we've been at war with them for 47 years."
That doesn't mean a damn thing to anyone younger than the age of 50.
Which explains why there is clearly a very wide chasm between the President (80 years old) and Vice President (who wasn't even alive in 1979 when this "war" allegedly started) of the United States on this stupid Iran debacle.

The majority of people are sheep who would rather live on their knees as slaves to Islamic fascists then stand and fight for liberty and freedom. The Dems might be able to impeach Trump, but enough votes to convict / remove are VERY unlikely. Then, even if successful, Vance becomes Prez - a mixed bag, but nowhere near the disaster the mullahs getting nukes would be.

Don’t get me wrong, IMO we have made a number of errors, some of which largely predate Trump, and Trump erred in trying to negotiate with Iran after only a few weeks of major ops: “Reasonable” Iranians are NOT in charge, by a long shot, and Iran’s long established “mosaic” strategy pretty much precludes success of any “deal” anyway.
Now, how many posters on FR have mentioned that “mosaic” strategy before now? That pretty much illustrates the ignorance all about. (I myself was only “partially” versed in that strategy, until recently, so I will accept the criticism I was partially ignorant about it too. No one can know even 1% of everything. OTOH, “mosaic” is probably not a fully correct term. “Hydra” might be better.)
BTW, I have yet to hear any of the illustrious know nothings condemning the toppling of Mohammad Mosaddegh and his National Front play out the likely consequences of failure to give him and his the boot. My analysis (summary) is that we very likely would not have won the “Cold War” or maybe even not have it stay “cold”. Iran was MUCH more strategically important than Vietnam, and in Vietnam, at least we did, in the bigger picture, contain communism to very limited gains and even sap it greatly.
