You hear about moose your whole life, think you've got 'em figured out. Big deer, right? Wrong. There you are minding your own business when one appears, no warning, no sound, like a pickup truck with legs. Up close, you realize real quick... you don't know how big a moose is until one decides you're standing in its living room.........

I was almost run over by one late at night while I was checking on my platoon , it was like a tank driving by ,LOL
They can be dangerous if it’s rutting season, but moostly peaceful.......
I saw 17 moose on one trip to Isle Royale, and every time I saw them before I heard them. That included walking around the back side of a shelter and almost running into one, I was within easy touching range as I turned the corner.
They are just as afraid of you as you are of them!...............

I first read the headline “Mouse” not “Moose.” And I thought, “Yeah, figures”
I would have offered him Moose Milk (like a Kahlua and coffee with egg nog, Canadian) and Moose Munch (confectionary snack from Harry and David).

Haven’t heard that in years. Maybe that is why this gal is scared. She is a child of an ole FReeper and knew the tale. LOL

I didn’t see much “panic” there.
They are huge. Im 6’1” and I had to look up to make eye contact with the one I encountered in Wyoming. It was easily as large as a good sized horse.
