WATCH: NYC Landlord DRAGS Zohran Mamdani and His Voters After Communist NYC Mayor Announces Rent Freeze for More Than Two Million Residents

A New York City landlord has gone viral for dragging Marxist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani after he announced a massive rent freeze last week.

As The New York Times reported, a New York City panel voted on Thursday to freeze rents for nearly one million rent-stabilized apartments. This fulfilled one of Mamdani's prominent campaign promises.

The Rent Guidelines Board approved the freeze on both one- and two-year leases in a 7-to-1 vote. Increases were thus paused on more than 40% of all apartments across the five boroughs.

The Times revealed that this includes high-rise luxury apartments, deeply affordable subsidized units, and 150-year-old walk-ups.

Mamdani posted a video on X bragging after the Board rendered its decision, noting that more than 2 million NYC residents will be affected.

"New York, the Independent Rent Guidelines Board just froze the rent," Mamdani says while grabbing an ice cream bar from the fridge. "That means if you're one of the more than two million New Yorkers who live in a rent-stabilized apartment, your rent's gonna be frozen next year.

It might be hot outside but the rent is freezing. pic.twitter.com/EXPaI8emyv

But NYC's Jude Jean Paul Bernard, who is a landlord, real Estate Broker, and investor, was quite unimpressed. He posted his own video to roast Mamdani and his supporters.

Bernard opens by sarcastically congratulating renters on having their rent frozen, then pours out a cold reality that neither they nor Mamdani wants to hear.

Well, one consequence is the complete disappearance of any 1- or 2-year leases in the city.

Essentially a way to grab property from landlords. Deny them the money to repair things then seize it because is broken down.

Morondamie don’t care. Wait until folks stop paying altogether since no evictions will happen. Then the property could be taken by the city and made govt housing.

Gee, I wonder what the ramifications are of a “rent freeze” policies. Do we, per chance, have any historical examples???

This Bernard guy is obviously an enemy of the people.

When will NYC regulators and inspectors be descending on him and his properties?

(I wish I were kidding here, but I’m not.)

If I were a landlord in NYC today, I’d rent or buy as many concert sized Marshall Amps and accompanying speakers as I could fit in the basement and play the islamic call to prayer five times a day at full, bone-rattling volume starting as early as possible

Let Moron Zandami call a halt to that.

First leg of Mamdani’s Directive 10-289.

“And conveniently, the same city that just passed this rent freeze has also said that they will be taking distressed properties from bad landlords.”

Bingo. When the properties become “distressed” - and Mamdani gets to declare what “distressed” means - the state will grab the property - which was the Prime Directive in the first place.

The people of NYC totally forgot what they told us they’d never forget. Now, the sheep have voted to be ruled by a wolf.

I shake my head as I watch NYC come apart. My real concern is that this communist movement will spread. I can tell you the young people I know, in the blue part of Ohio, are all in for communism.

If American youth want Communism I say let them have it. I no longer care.

“”I can tell you the young people I know, in the blue part of Ohio, are all in for communism.””

***

But only because they’ve never had to live under communism. They’ve been brainwashed and conned and as Rush used to call them, they are mind-numbed robots with heads full of mush (I call it something else, but I digress). If they had ever even questioned or interviewed someone that lived under communism, whether it be Cuba, N. Korea, China or the USSR... they would know the stunning truth. Communism is of the real Satan.

The leftists have taken over American youth indoctrination already in public schools and colleges. And we’ve let them. It’s on us to have allowed this BS to get this far. And guess what? It’s going to go a lot farther because many of those on our side are apathetic, lazy, naive and ignorant about the real threat we are faced with.

Trump knows and he’s calling it what it IS. But so many people hate Trump or have been convinced that he is the devil, so they will patently ignore his warnings.

God help us.

Well, one consequence is the complete disappearance of any 1- or 2-year leases in the city.

Once they occupy an apartment, tenants have a "right" to have that lease renewed. I don't think landlords can refuse to renew a lease without cause. Which means that, in practice, the first lease is for as long as the tenant wishes to stay.

I’m sure they also froze property and all other taxes associated with owning/renting/leasing property. You know, to be FAIR.

I make myself laugh at the absurdity of even suggesting they might consider doing that.
