Trump Lashes Out at ‘Fools’ Criticizing His Iran Deal: ‘Either Jealous, Bad People, or Stupid’
Mediaite ^ | June 17, 2026 | Zachary Leeman

President Donald Trump kicked off his Thursday morning by lashing out at critics of his 14-point deal with Iran, calling them “fools.”

On Truth Social, Trump bragged about stock market gains this week and average gas prices falling slightly since the announcement of the memorandum of understanding (MOU), which can be read here. The deal has found critics on both sides of the political aisle, with some arguing that the deal is not tough enough on Iran. Others have also red-flagged framework in the deal that would set up a $300 billion reconstruction fund, as well as sanctions being lifted on Iran.

Trump dismissed these critics as “either jealous, bad people, or stupid.”

“These fools, who think I haven’t been tough enough on Iran, when the Stock Market Just Hit A RECORD HIGH, and Oil prices are ‘tumbling’ down, are either jealous, bad people, or stupid. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!! President DJT,” the president wrote.

Trump spoke about the MOU during a press conference at the G7 summit on Wednesday, where he also pointed to the stock market.

“So the one thing I didn’t want to see is — I didn’t want to see economic catastrophe. If you kept this going, that could have happened. But all I know is, every time we talked about the possibility of peace, the stock market shot up like a rocket ship. It never went down. They didn’t like it — the people. You know, the stock market is more brilliant than anybody there is,” he said.

Trump formally signed a memorandum of understanding while in Versailles, France, that includes ending a Navy blockade, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and more.

The president has warned that if Iran does not follow through on the deal, then he’ll go right back to “bombing” them.

“If I don’t like it, if they don’t behave, we’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head. OK? Because they’ve misbehaved for 47 years,” he said.

He just called those who question the deal bad or stupid. So he’s waiting for the mid terms and then he’ll say what?? Oh you bad and stupid people were right. Let’s bomb Iran.

“I agree with you that Trump is finding an off ramp to help with the midterms.”

The Senate is surely going to be lost. The Republicans never had a chance during Trump’s second term of holding it come 2027. There are probably enough RINOs in it now that even a majority can’t be gotten for significant reforms.

Republicans in the Senate aren’t willing to SAVE themselves.

Trump isn’t even asking Congress for MAGA tariff legislation, or for authority to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Is Iran stronger or weaker than when Trump arrived? Get the tankers moving.

You left out the Ayatoilet is not screaming death to America and 500 barrage missiles at Israel every other day. Other than that everything is exactly the same.

There was an “expert” on CBS Mornings today who said that US will be giving “billions” of dollars to Iran even before the 60 days are up. This “expert” didn’t even say that a “final” deal on nuclear material must be agreed before any US sanctions is lifted. It seems these “experts” are lying to the public already about this deal. I agree with you that Trump is finding an off ramp to help with the midterms. This intermediate deal is about getting the strait opened.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/text-iran-us-memorandum-understanding-rcna350582

From the text:

The United States of America undertakes to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Upon the implementation of this MOU, the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on the procedures related to the release of these funds during the negotiations. Such funds, whether retained in the original account or transferred, shall be made fully usable for payment to any ultimate beneficiary designated by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States of America undertakes to issue all necessary licenses and authorizations accordingly.

It will be a real shame is the mass murderers of their own people are left in charge. Oh well, if so maybe we can revisit them after midterms.

“This intermediate deal is about getting the strait opened.”

The PRC is getting the message that the US Navy can’t defend ships, or Taiwan.

“The quiet escalation unfolding around Taiwan’s remote outposts as Beijing sends ships”

“Taiwan said it was the first time mainland Chinese government vessels had entered the Taipei-defined restricted waters near Taiping”

“It added that a mainland Chinese coastguard ship had previously entered the prohibited waters of the Pratas Islands, also known as the Dongsha Islands, on June 5.”

Our IT industry and stock market depend on Taiwanese semiconductor factories.

The US is self-sufficent in oil, not semiconductor chips or consumer goods.

“What has been released so far suggests that, unfortunately, the president is getting, I think, very poor advice when it comes to this deal. History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is a bad idea. Under the terms of what’s been released, somewhere between $10 billion and $30 billion will flow to the Ayatollah immediately before they make even a single nuclear concession.

“I think that’s ill-advised. That money, if it goes to the Ayatollah, will go to fund terrorists trying to kill Americans and weapons that will be used to try to kill Americans. And it also appears to formalize a permanent role for the Islamic regime controlling the Strait of Hormuz. It is difficult to see what possible benefit to America could come from that.”

do we need to bomb Iran every year to ensure they don’t rebuild their nuclear facilities?

There's an unfortunate reality regarding how long it takes to build an atomic weapons program. For comparison, the Manhattan Project took 3 years from the time it was started (June or Sep 1942, depending on your criteria for when it started) to the time of the first test (July 1945) and first use (Aug 1945).

That was starting from scratch, with 1940s tech and know-how, doing something no one had done before. I imagine it doesn't take nearly that long today.

The World came to America to buy our oil. That was an unusual situation. The oil companies probably had everything set up for less so the demand exceeded the supply. This pause will allow them to catch up.

The Iranian mullahs know that full well and won’t allow that to happen. They are in sync with the leftist Democrats re: that stance. They’ll do everything in their power to see that Trump does NOT get a victory lap on anything. Bank on it.

Let me get this straight:

1. It’s stupid to make a deal with Iran because they will never abide by the terms and the deal will go kapoof.

2. It’s stupid to make a deal with Iran because we’ll be stuck with terms that are not in our favor.

So which s it? Will we be stuck with a bad deal, or will it go kapoof?

Obviously, it will go kapoof.

I dunno.

President Trump said the only acceptable deal was UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER.

Is this that?

And... the Strait is now open and nations are able to resupply with oil... and there is no more nuke threat from Iran. But yeah, other than that, everything is exactly the same and we’re right back where we started before the Iran war (rolling eyes not to you, but to the idiots that keep saying stupid stuff like that).

I'm not jealous or stupid, so I must be a bad person.

What about on-site inspection?

We will know Iran is cheating by the mushroom cloud over Tel-Aviv. Possibly quickly followed by Riyadh.

I hope that’s the explanation. I think that’s also what Iran is waiting for. They’ll be good until after November. They’re hoping for a Dhimmicrap Congress that will tie Trump’s hands, then they can do whatever they want.

Those are just words - nobody surrenders unconditionally anymore.

I care a lot more about the outcome as it relates to US national security than I do about President Trump’s choice of words and holding him to them, literally.

Having said that, I’ll admit I don’t know what’s going on and I’m a little confused by all this..

Like I said, I suspect that with lack of embedded media giving us reports of what’s going on behind enemy lines, we may all be underestimating how devastated that country is.

President Trump keeps saying that the world is better off with a functioning Iranian economy - if it can behave itself - rather than an Iran that’s reduced to rubble. Maybe we should give that a chance.
